CERT-In identified multiple high-risk vulnerabilities in Android: Details

Android has released security updates to address these vulnerabilities, and impacted users should update their devices to the most recent OS version.

According to the most recent CERT-In warning, Android devices are at high risk, with Android 15 and 16 compromised due to several vulnerabilities that allow attackers to access private data and more. The business encourages users to download and install the most recent security updates, since Android has issued security patches to address these issues.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a security alert warning that millions of Android devices running Android versions 13, 14, 15, or 16 are at risk due to various security issues. The government has identified multiple vulnerabilities as distinct CVE identifiers, each with a high severity rating, suggesting a risk of cyberattack.

The warning alerts users to numerous vulnerabilities in the Android operating system’s Framework, Android Runtime, System, Widevine DRM, Project Mainline, Kernel, Arm, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Qualcomm closed-source components, among other components. Due to vulnerabilities that potentially provide attackers with elevated rights, sensitive data, the ability to run arbitrary code, or the ability to cause a denial of service, Android 13 and 14 have been assessed as having “High” severity.
