Google rolled out the latest upgrade to its operating system “Android” on 15 August 2022. Android 13 is the thirteenth major release of the Android operating system. Android 13 was initially introduced in Pixel phones and will be made available for other devices later this year.

Features of Android 13
You can check whether Android 13 is available for your smartphones by clicking on Settings>System>System Update and tapping Check for Update. Compared to Android 12 there aren’t any major changes in Android 13. Though we have listed some of the best features of Android 13 for you:

More Customization
Google is inclined towards deeper personalisation. Android 13 supports more colours. You can choose from 16 wallpaper colours and 16 basic colours. To select your personalised colour go to Settings, choose Wallpaper & Style to find new colour theme options. Toggle on Themed Icons and you can see all the available options.

Improved Copy & Paste
Android 13 has enhanced Copy-Paste options as well. After you copy something a small floating panel pops up where you can edit your content. You can also copy from one device to another having the same Gmail account. To protect your privacy, your history will be automatically deleted after 1 hour.

Enhanced Privacy
Android 13 has enhanced privacy. You can now access the permissions you provide to your apps. For example, if an app asks for media permission you can choose from photos, videos or audio files. Additionally, you can also pick the media files you want to give access to.

Fewer Notifications
Say bye-bye to the hassle of handling unnecessary notifications. In Android 13 apps will seek permission before enabling notifications.

Quick scanning
Scanning QR codes has now become an everyday occurrence. Android 13 has made QR code scanning quicker and easier. Pull down the Notification tile, tap Edit and tweak your quick settings tile.

Revamped Media Player
The media player has been revamped and looks better. A squiggly line appears to show the progress of the track being played. The audio output picker is redesigned too.

Smart home control
To get access to the camera and other smart features you no longer have to unlock your device. You can access these features even when the screen is locked by going to Settings>Display>Lock Screen>Control from a locked device.

Bluetooth LE Audio Support
This simply means that you can listen to high-quality audio in low-energy mode. Thus the power consumption will be reduced for wireless headphones, earbuds & other devices.

Encrypted group chats
End-to-end encryption was already available for one-on-one chats and with Android 13 will also be available for group chats.
