Garmin launched MARQ luxury smartwatches in India

To celebrate it’s 30 years, Garmin announced the launch of a series of five luxury smartwatches in India. The company introduced its new MARQ collection that includes MARQ Driver, MARQ Athlete, MARQ Aviator, MARQ Captain and MARQ Expedition. The key highlight includes an always-on and sunlight-readable display, GPS, built-in music storage, daily activity tracking and heart rate sensor.

All the watches under MARQ series are made of titanium to make it lightweight and durable. While the lenses are made to of sapphire crystal. According to the company the material used is twice as hard, compared to glass. The watch’s bezel is built of ceramic to shield the watch from wear and tear. The MARQ series comes with 12 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, 28 hours in GPS Mode and up to 48 hours in UltraTracTM mode.

The smartwatch comes with over 250 preloaded global racetracks. The watch is best suitable for the racing enthusiast and comes equipped with auto lap splits, live delta time and a track timer. The track timer allows the user to track time of the cars on the race track and calculate their average speed.

The smart wearable device is best appropriate for the aspiring athlete which includes advanced running dynamics together with V02 max and recovery time scale on the right side of the bezel. MARQ Athlete watch offers advanced running dynamics to let the user track their workout stats, measure progress and fine-tune form. With the help of biometrics, the athlete can better understand their performance while the Pulse Ox feature allows them to know how well their body is absorbing oxygen.

Specifically designed for the pilots or aviation enthusiasts MARQ Aviator smartwatch comes with an aviation-inspired luminous swept-wing design along with a multi-link titanium bracelet with security clasp. The device includes features such as aviation maps and advanced safety features such as the NEXRAD Weather Radar, airport information and Garmin cockpit integration. 24-hour GMT bezel runs two different time zones along with the current time. In addition to this, the watch face also shows the airport code.

As the name suggests the smartwatch is basically built for those drawn to water. It comes with improved GPS technology and advanced nautical and smart features that consist of a regatta timer bezel, coastal charts, tack assist and a port conditions watch face to keep mariners up to speed on the conditions of their port of choice. The device also shows the current wind speed, temperature and tide information. These features let the mariners decide if conditions are right for a day on the water.

MARQ Expedition smartwatch aims at modern explorers that features TOPO mapping, a built-in altimeter, barometer and compass. The ClimbPro gives actual information on existing and approaching climbs like gradient, distance and elevation gain. The device is compatible with the inReach Mini satellite communicator. Apart from that, the wireless unit-to-unit connectivity permits the user to remotely control the in Reach Mini device to send and receive messages.

Pricing and Availability

The MARQ Athlete has been launched at Rs 1,41,990, the MARQ Driver at Rs 2,36,990 and the MARQ Aviator will be available at Rs 1,84,990. While the MARQ Captain at Rs 1,74,990 and the MARQ Expedition can be purchased at Rs 1,65,990. The MARQ series is now available for purchase online via the official website of Garmin. Also, it can be purchased through an authorised offline retailer in New Delhi, Noida and Bengaluru.
