Gmail gets updated with new summary cards for better organisation and track purchases and more

With the addition of new action buttons for calendaring events, sending invitations to others, and creating reminders, the Summary cards will now be updated across purchases, events, bills, and travel emails.

Google has upgraded the Summary Cards feature in Gmail, adding new action buttons and a fresh look. Purchases, Events, Bills, and Travel are the four categories into which the cards will group information from connected emails. Now, users may take action directly from their inbox without having to open each email. Three more Summary Cards and a brand-new “Happening soon” section will be added in the upcoming months.

Gmail is making updates to its summary cards and adding new capabilities to make it easier for users to get the information they need quickly. Additionally, they will have greater capacity on the backend, gathering important data from relevant emails and updating instantly to let you know when deliveries are scheduled. Additionally, summary cards will be added to more Gmail features, such as Gmail search and the “Happening soon” portion of your inbox. Users will benefit from being able to locate pertinent information quickly.

Updated summary cards are available in Gmail for four popular email categories: travel, bills, events, and purchases. Users may locate what they bought, monitor goods, and see order information through purchases. Events help users quickly locate upcoming events, send out invitations, and get directions. Invoices allow customers to manage bookings, set due dates, and track and pay invoices. Travel enables customers to examine important trip information, check-in for flights, and manage bookings.

Gmail’s summary cards visually arrange the most important information from linked emails, making it simple for users to take action, swiftly access important data, and keep track of deadlines, forthcoming events, and deliveries. These cards provide appropriate actions such as “Get directions,” “Invite others,” “Track package,” “Check in,” “Remind me,” or “Mark as paid,” which eliminates the need to go through several conversations.

The firm has made it easier for customers to view timely updates without reading individual emails by adding a new “Happening soon” space at the top of inboxes. Purchase summary cards are located in this area; they will only show up when necessary, as when a purchase’s expected delivery date is two days away. When more than one delivery arrives simultaneously, the summary cards are stacked and can be expanded, dismissed, or accessed directly.

Availability

Updated purchase summary cards are now available for individual emails on Android and iOS, with event, bill, and travel summary cards and “Happening soon” following. All four card categories will be displayed in individual emails, the “Happening soon” section, and Gmail search.
