Google to expand its Circle to Search feature to more Android devices

Users can directly search by highlighting, scribbling, or circling an element.

Key Highlights

  • Circle to Search is Google’s AI-powered feature that will be expanded to more Pixel and Android smartphones.
  • The feature is already available on Pixel 8 series, Pixel 7 series and Samsung Galaxy S24 Series.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series was the first to get Google’s Circle to Search feature when it was launched earlier this year. After which the tech giant Google announced to expand the AI feature to its Pixel devices. As of right now, Circle to Search is currently accessible on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 series. Google has now revealed that the Circle to Search tool will be available on more Android phones.

After the Galaxy S24 series, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were the first to receive the Circle to Search feature in February. The Pixel 7 lineup was also given access to this capability by the firm earlier in March. Google has now officially confirmed that the AI-powered Circle to Search feature is now being rolled out to more Android smartphones. Starting this week it will start making it accessible for the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet.

Samsung has started sending the latest OneUI update that includes all of the Galaxy AI features including Circle to Search to Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 along with Galaxy Tab S9 Series.

Google has also revealed that Translations in Circle to Search will start rolling out in the coming weeks. However Google Lens can assist you with translating something nearby, like a street sign or poster. Just select the translate filter by tapping the Lens button in the Google app. Lens will automatically detect the source language and blend the translated text over the original.

Users will be able to shop for products they see and discover more about them thanks to Google’s AI-powered functionality Circle to Search. Moreover, one can also search for definitions of words or phrases using functionality while watching a video. It also allows you to look for a building or a particular cafe that you have seen on their social media feed by just scribbling over the building to swiftly identify it (and even add it to their travel itinerary) with the feature.
