Enhanced Tags on Reels is a new feature from Instagram that has been announced today. The new functionality makes it easier for creators to get credit for their work. To recall Enhanced Tags were first introduced in March for Feed, but they are now also available for Reels. Check out the enhanced tags on Feed and Reels and how to use them.
While announcing the feature the Meta owned Instagram said, “For creators on Instagram, proper crediting has never been more important, especially for marginalized and underrepresented creators and collaborators whose contributions are often behind the scenes. Check out enhanced tags on Feed and Reels to make it easier for creators to receive credit for their work.”
Up to this point, the Instagram community has banded together to support creators and found alternative ways to give credit to one another, such as tagging one another in captions and photos so it has announced Enhanced Tags. This will help creators get credit and recognition for creative work proper so that they get new opportunities, economic empowerment, and discovery.
Enhanced tags allow people to share and view a creator’s specific contribution to a photo or video post by showing their self-designated profile category on their professional accounts in their People Tag. By expanding enhanced tags to Reels, Instagram feels that it is an important contributor to Instagram engagement growth. Simply put, if you worked on a post as a makeup artist, songwriter, or other significant collaborators, your contributions will be more visible in the post or Reel.
