JioBook budget laptop launched in India: Pricing and specification details

Reliance Jio’s JioBook low-cost laptop has been launched in India. The device is now available for purchase via an online government portal. The laptop is powered by the Snapdragon 665 Processor which is based on ARM technology. Moreover, the notebook comes with a built-in 4G SIM for simple networking.

The JioBook is advertised on the government e-marketplace for Rs 19,500. End users can’t yet purchase the JioBook, though resellers can order one unit as the minimum consignment quantity. One blue colour option has been listed for the JioBook budget laptop.

The build of the JioBook is described as having a metallic hinge system and an ABS plastic chassis body in the government e-marketplace entry. An 11.6-inch HD display with 1366 x 768-pixel resolution will be featured on the JioBook. The refresh rate would be limited to the industry-standard 60Hz rate.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with Adreno 610 GPU will power the JioBook. It includes 32GB of expandable eMMC storage and 2GB of LPDDR4x RAM out of the box. customers have the option of using a microSD card slot to increase storage. Additionally, a 4G micro-SIM card slot will be provided for connectivity. The device runs on JioOS which is anticipated to be a cloned variant of Microsoft Windows made specifically for Jio laptops in India.

It will have USB-A 3.0, HDMI, USB-A 2.0, Wi-Fiac, and Bluetooth 5.0 ports. It has a 55.1–60 AH battery that should provide up to eight hours of use on a single charge. In addition to this the device has a touchpad with multi-touch gestures and an HD webcam for video conferencing.

Apart from this the company has also started Jio 5G beta trial services in four cities —Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi.

As Jio’s True-5G network is being developed in a few metro regions, Jio’s Welcome Offer will allow its invited customers to test True-5G services and provide service and user-experience feedback. Jio takes pleasure in offering the best possible customer experience, which is supported by user feedback.

Invited “Jio Welcome Offer” users will get an immediate upgrade to the Jio True 5G service without having to change their current Jio SIM or 5G device.
