Keeping in mind the need of both, a team of IIT Delhi professors and Alumini have developed Nanoclean AC filters.
These filters will have the capability of turning an AC into an Air Purifier. Nanoclean AC Filters are said to be a “non-woven structure which is able to retain pollutants (PM2.5) because of its high dust holding capacity.” It has also been said that the fabric structure is a proprietary technology of these filters.
In addition to this, they are a lot smaller than the filters that are used in air purifiers and they are also not anything like the cartridges used in them, that comes with a number of components. Instead, Nanoclean AC filters are made of pure PP (polypropylene) that can be recycled into other products. These can be melted and reconverted to other products. So, this is an environmentally friendly technology compared to other marketed products.
It has been claimed that Nanoclean AC filters can purify a room up to 90% in just 1 hour of its functioning in an AC without putting additional load on it. It is said to be a “Do It Yourself” product and can easily be placed in a split as well as window AC.
