OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T begin receiving OxygenOS 5.0.7 update

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 5.0.7 update to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. As of now, the update is being pushed out to users in a phased manner. Once the initial users give a heads up that the update is bug-free, it be rolled out to the masses too.

OnePlus has mentioned on its official forum that the new update gets the November Android security patch with itself and includes some general bug fixes and enhancements that would upgrade the overall performance of the two devices. The new software version is being rolled out as an incremental over-the-air update.

OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T mobile users would also be happy to know that one they get the update; they would also be able to use OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones. Initially, the headphones could only be used with recent smartphones by the company including the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 (review). The OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones were launched ahead of the OnePlus 6T (review) last month. Unlike the original OnePlus Bullets headphones that come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, the new ones have a USB Type-C interface, as suggested by their name.

The company claims that the OxygenOS 5.0.7 update also enhances the safety of the devices with the November Android security. The security patch was first rolled out to Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices earlier this month. It got improvements for notifications, picture-in-picture mode and fixes for some issues that were being faced particularly by Pixel users.  It is worth noticing that the November security patch came to OnePlus 6T with OxygenOS 9.0.4 last month and reached OnePlus 6 via an Open Beta 6 update.

As we mentioned earlier, the new software update is being rolled out in a phased manner. Initially, it will be made available to a small percentage of users and in a next few days, it will reach everyone.

If you are a OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T user, you can head to the Settings of your smartphone and then go to System updates to check for the availability of the OxygenOS 5.0.7. However, before you install the update to your device, make sure that you have your data backed up.
