We should mention that prior to this, Lau had taken to Twitter to say that the next product from OnePlus will “unleash a new era of Fast and Smooth.” He further said in the same tweet that ‘Smooth’ is more challenging than fast. While there is no clarity as of now about what Lau meant when he said that the company wants the upcoming smartphone lineup will be smoother than faster, but it is being speculated that he basically dropped a hint that the next handset will be compatible to 5G networks. The smartphone is bound to provide a smoother experience if is compatible with 5G.

A report has also surfaced online saying that the upcoming smartphone will be launched globally in New York, London and Bengaluru simultaneously on May 14 next month. It has also been reported that the handset will be launched at 8.30 pm on the said date.

As we mentioned earlier, a number of speculations say that OnePlus is all set to launch three devices this year instead of one. Apart from the vanilla variant of the device7, the company will also be unveiling its OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

As the names of the smartphones suggest, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are only different in terms of display, while the third model will come with 5G connectivity. However, all three smartphones are said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. It has also been reported that OnePlus 7’s base model will come with 8GB of RAM instead of 6GB RAM like most other previous smartphones by the company.

According to previous reports, OnePlus 7 will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display and OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, will feature a Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. OnePlus 7 Pro is said to come with a triple rear camera setup with a wide angle and telephoto lenses. Both are expected to come with a pop-up selfie camera.
