Oppo A53 5G powered by MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC launched

The device is the 5G variant of Oppo A53 which launched in India a few months back

Oppo A53 5G has now made its debut in the Chinese market. As the name suggests it is the 5G version of Oppo A53 which was introduced in India back in August this year. However, it is a tweaked version of the original smartphone but this one offers a higher refresh rate display and is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC for 5G support. To recall the device which was launched in August included the Snapdragon 460 chipset for the 4G support. The battery capacity has also been reduced from 5,000mAh to 4,040mAh.

Oppo A53 has been introduced with a price tag of CNY 1,299 that translates to Rs 14600 for the base 4GB RAM with 128GB storage options. Although the company is yet to reveal the pricing of 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. The 5G phone will be offered Lake Green, Secret Night Black, and Streamer Purple colour options. The smartphone is scheduled to be up for sale on December 22 and the company has already started taking pre-orders of the device.

Oppo A53 comes with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution, 405ppi pixel density and 480 nits of peak brightness. It will be offering a 90Hz refresh rate and a 120Hz touch sampling rate with a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage option.

In terms of photography, there is a triple rear camera on the phone which includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and another 2-megapixel sensor for taking portraits with f/2.4 aperture. While on the front there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 placed inside a hole-punch display.

For connectivity, there is 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass,, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The sensors it includes are an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, gyroscope and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Oppo A53 comes with a 4,040mAh battery supported by a 10W charger.
