Poco X5 Pro 5G debuted in India a few weeks back now a new sibling of the smartphone is also arriving in the country soon. The company announced to launch the Poco X5 5G in India on March 14. It is going to be a toned-down version of the Pro model that will be selling at significantly lower pricing. The upcoming phone has also been listed on the Indian e-commerce platform Flipkart to tease its availability. Note that the device has already debuted in a few regions globally so we are quite aware of its specifications.
Xiaomi’s spin-off took to Twitter to announce the Poco X5 5G launch date and time via a teaser video on Twitter. The device is scheduled to launch on March 14. The company will be hosting a launch event that will be streamed live at 12 noon. The live stream can be watched on its official YouTube channel and via the firm’s social media accounts. The device is confirmed to be available via Flipkart in the country.
The video teaser does not share much about the phone but it does give the first glimpse of the smartphone. The teaser makes cryptic mention of at least three colour options. The Poco X5 5G was released in a few international markets last month. It is being offered in three colour options of Black, Blue, and Green. The upcoming version is likely to be priced under 20K in India.
Poco X5 5G specifications
Poco X5 5G global variant boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED full-HD+ display having 1,080 x 2,400 pixels of resolution. It will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a hole punch cutout to house a selfie camera. Just like the pro variant the phone will run on MIUI 13 with Android 12. The device will be driven by a Snapdragon 695 SoC. The handset offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.
For the photos and videos, the Poco X5 5G will house a triple camera setup at the back that includes a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary lens and a 2MP tertiary lens. There will be a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
In addition to this, the Poco phone will include a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. There will be a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well for biometrics.
