The Redmi 12 is going to launch in India soon. According to the company, the new smartphone will debut on August 1 in the country. The Redmi 12 budget phone made its debut in a few exclusive countries last month. As a result, we are familiar with its specs. A MediaTek G88 SoC is most likely the source of power for this device. The phone will also include a 5,000mAh battery and a triple camera setup on the back. Additionally, the phone has a 90Hz display.
The Redmi 12 is scheduled to launch in India on August 1. While announcing the exact launch date the company revealed that the device will feature a crystal glass design.
For those who are unaware, the Redmi 12 was introduced in Europe last month with a starting price of EUR 199, or around Rs. 17,000, for the variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option is offered in Thailand at a price of THB 5,299, or around Rs.

The phone is made available there in the colours Midnight Black, Polar Silver, and Sky Blue. Rumours suggest that the smartphone’s price in India might be similar to what it costs in Europe.
Redmi 12 specifications
The Redmi 12 has a 6.79-inch full-HD+ screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,460 pixels. The panel has a variable refresh rate of up to 90Hz and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. It uses MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13. A MediaTek Helio G88 SoC and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM power the smartphone. Users can virtually increase the internal RAM’s capacity to 16GB by adding internal storage. It also has an internal storage capacity of up to 256GB. But the storage can be increased with a microSD card by up to 1TB.
The Redmi 12 boasts a triple rear camera arrangement with AI assistance that consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The phone includes an 8-megapixel selfie camera up front.
The 5,000mAh battery on the Redmi 12 supports 18W fast charging. For connectivity, it offers 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou, NFC, FM radio, IR blaster, USB type-C port, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The sensors on the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer and an e-compass.
