The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi today announced the launch of a new Tablet under its sub-brand Redmi. The company has introduced the Redmi Pad which is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. The device runs on Android 12 and it comes equipped with a 2k display having a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the phone has an 8,000mAh battery onboard.

Redmi Pad is going to be offered in three different configurations: 3GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB + 128GB, each of which will cost INR 12,499, INR 14,499, and INR 19,999 at launch.

Starting on October 5, 2022, at noon, it will be offered on Mi.com, Mi Homes, Flipkart, and all of our retail partners. Every customer will be able to purchase the 6GB + 128 GB (Mint Green) model on Mi.com starting at 10 am tomorrow, October 5, 2022. The device will be available in Graphite Gray, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green.

Additionally, from October 5 through October 9, 2022, Bank of Baroda customers can take advantage of an additional bank discount of up to 10% just on mi.com.

Redmi Pad specifications

The Redmi Pad features a 10.61-inch display with a resolution of 2,000×1,200 pixels. It boasts a peak brightness of 400 nits and a refresh rate of 90Hz. A MediaTek Helio G99 SoC with up to 6GB of RAM powers the tablet. Up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage is included with the new Redmi Pad, and it can be increased (up to 1TB) using a microSD card slot.

It comes pre-installed with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. According to the business, it will get two updates for Android versions and three for security patches. With the help of the Split Screen, Floating Windows, and Multi-Window features, users can run up to three apps at once. The Reading Mode function for all readers and bookworms instantly modifies the colours and texture of the screen by reacting to the ambient light, thus decreasing eye fatigue.

The Redmi Pad has an 8-megapixel camera that can record films and images at a resolution of 1080p. For selfies and video chats, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 105-degree field of vision.

The tablet comes with a 22.5W charger and has an 8,000mAh battery that supports 18W rapid charging. The device is claimed to provide more than 21 hours of video playback or over 12 hours of gaming and more than 8 hours of music playback. There is a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.2, and other connectivity choices. It has four speakers with compatibility with Dolby Atmos.
