Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G with quad cameras launched globally

Both the smartphones are powered by Exynos 1280 chipset.

At its Galaxy A event today, Samsung formally unveiled a new portfolio of A-Series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G have been released by the firm. In terms of construction and features, these mid-range smartphones are very comparable. The gadgets are the company’s response to Apple’s iPhone SE, which debuted last week. Both phones are the successors of the Galaxy A52 and A32. The devices come pre-installed with Android 12 and OneUI.

In terms of availability Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G are said to be available in select markets beginning April 1 and the Galaxy A33 5G will be available beginning April 22.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Samsung Galaxy A33 5G starts at EUR 449 (about Rs. 37,800) and EUR 369 (roughly Rs 31,000) respectively

Another new addition to the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A73 5G, will also be available in select markets on April 22. As per the company, A new Onyx colour of the Galaxy Buds2 and Buds Live will launch in April, to complement the stylish design of the Galaxy A series.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity O display with a refresh rate of 120Hz that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The handset runs OneUI 4.1 on top of Android 12. The phone is powered by a 5nm Exynos 1280 SoC with up to 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 128/256GB of internal storage. A microSD card may be used to extend the capacity up to 1TB.

The A53 has a quad rear camera setup with a 64MO main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. The smartphone has a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The handset comes with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. Additionally, the phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The connectivity options on the phone includes 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4G+5GHz), Bluetooth v 5.1. While the sensors onboard include Accelerometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Light Sensor, Virtual Proximity Sensing.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G smartphone features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity O display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone operates on OneUI 4.1 on top of Android 12. The phone equips 5nm Exynos 1280 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 128/256GB of internal storage option. The storage can be further expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

For the optics, the A33 features a quad rear camera set up that houses a 48MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro lens. For selfies and videos calling the smartphone includes a 13MP front-facing camera.

The device is dust and water-resistant, with an IP67 grade. In addition, the phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W rapid charging. The phone’s connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4G+5GHz), and Bluetooth v 5.1. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, a fingerprint sensor, a gyro sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a hall sensor, a light sensor, and virtual proximity sensing.
