Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G specifications confirmed ahead of March 17 launch in India

The upcoming phone will come with a 50MP primary camera.

The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G is set to debut in India next week. This smartphone has a 50-megapixel camera and a large 6,000mAh battery, which ensures durability. It runs One UI 8, which is built on Android 16, and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor. The gadget has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, making it ideal for those that want consistent performance for communication, content consumption, and daily tasks.

The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G is scheduled for launch in India on March 17. Ahead of the launch the company has officially revealed ahead of the introduction. 

The Galaxy M17e 5G is available in two brilliant colours: Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue. This smartphone has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth scrolling experiences for users. It combines adaptive brightness technology with a high brightness mode (HBM) to improve visibility in a variety of lighting conditions.

In terms of design, the Galaxy M17e 5G has a compact profile of just 8.2 mm, which is accentuated with a Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) back and strategically placed ergonomic buttons. Furthermore, the gadget has an IP54 certification, which provides dust and water resistance, making it suited for various everyday scenarios.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor, which has two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. Furthermore, the device has an integrated Arm Mali-G57 GPU, which provides efficient graphics processing for multimedia playback and casual gaming. The smartphone’s built-in modem supports several 5G bands.

The Galaxy M17e 5G runs Samsung’s One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16, and has large folders for better app organisation. The Now Bar provides real-time information on the lock screen, while Live Notifications are for ongoing tasks. It has the Google Gemini AI assistant for a variety of activities, supports Google Circle to Search, and Samsung guarantees six generations of OS upgrades and security patches.

The Galaxy M17e 5G improves security with an auto-blocker that prevents unauthorised app installs and Samsung Knox Vault, which protects important data in a certified secure environment. It also provides services such as Samsung Health for monitoring one’s well-being, Samsung Members for diagnostics help, and Samsung Voice Focus for improving call clarity by lowering background noise.
