Samsung is slated to introduce the next generation of foldable gadgets during a Galaxy Unpacked event, perhaps in July 2026. As two highly anticipated additions to the foldable smartphone lineup, the  will undoubtedly steal the show. There is a lot of buzz about a new form factor that might possibly change the face of the current product line-up. Here is everything we know about it.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide

Samsung is expected to unveil a third model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, in response to consumer feedback over the aspect ratio of its folding devices. This new model is said to be shorter and broader than its predecessors and has a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide might lose its back camera and have a smaller battery in a cost-cutting move to improve market competitiveness.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, meanwhile, is likely to focus more on improved processing power and structural stability. The phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU and will sport a thin design with a folded thickness of 8.9mm. Made of superior Armor Aluminium, it will have an increased Armor Flex Hinge for better strength and durability. The camera system will be a trio of cameras, including a significant main sensor, while the battery capacity will be slightly bigger than the previous model’s 4,400mAh.

Galaxy Z Flip 8

At debut, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will keep its signature exterior appearance while receiving substantial internal upgrades. According to rumours, it could come with a regular 12GB of RAM and Samsung’s next Exynos 2600 CPU, which is built on a 2nm architecture. The device’s 4.1-inch exterior FlexWindow is likely to be retained, but a new mechanical structure will be used to achieve a primary display that is almost crease-free. A 4,300 mAh capacity and 25W cable charging capabilities are among the expected battery specs. Moreover, rumours circulating in the supply chain indicate that this model may be the last in the Z Flip series. With Samsung reportedly considering tri-fold and multi-fold designs for future devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is an important release for clamshell smartphone enthusiasts.

Expected Pricing

The global shortage of memory chips continues, and industry analysts anticipate the situation to lead to a slight price adjustment for the higher-storage variants. The anticipated initial launching prices for the smartphones are as follows: Galaxy Z Flip 8 with a $1,099 starting price, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide with a $1,799-1,899 starting price, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a $1,999 starting price.

The models are expected to be released on July 22, 2026, with pre-orders to be available right after the announcement and delivery of the devices to begin in early August 2026.
