Apart from the built and design the Samsung T7 Shield Portable Solid State Drive has a read speed of 1,050 megabytes per second (MB/s) and a write speed of 1,000 MB/s, which is said to be the fastest USB 3.2 Gen2 transfer speeds currently available. Its PSSD is c to claimed to be twice as fast as its predecessor, the T5, and up to 9.5 times faster than external hard disc drives (HDDs).

According to the company, it has improved the inside and outside of the T7 Shield by changing the surface material and improving the software to address performance degradation and overheating that occur when transferring large files. There is no performance degradation as a result of this change, even when 2TB files are moved at once, and heat generation is reduced, which helps to alleviate any inconvenience that consumers may experience. This allows data to be transmitted reliably without affecting performance, even when performing data-intensive, continuous tasks like high-quality video recording, editing, encoding, and rendering.

Samsung’s T7 Shield is designed to work across multiple devices and can store large amounts of photos, games, and 4K and 8K videos on a PC, Mac, Smartphone (Android), or game console. Furthermore, the T7 Shield has improved security (*256-bit AES, Advanced Encryption Standard) with hardware encryption, ensuring that consumer data is safe even if the T7 shield is lost. It also comes with Samsung’s Magician Software, which allows users to easily manage the drive.
