The Japanese electronics major, Sony, has announced the launch of its latest home audio product in the market. The company has launched Sony HT-G700 soundbar that is supported by Dolby Atmos, DTS:X as well as the Vertical Surround Engine. The new Sony device comes with a Soundbar and a wireless subwoofer that arrived in the mid-range segment to compete with other devices being offered at a much higher price.
While announcing the HT-G700 soundbar, “Offering a dynamic, best-in-class acoustic experience is of peak importance when designing our soundbars,” said Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer, Sony Electronics North America. “The new HT-G700 soundbar delivers a fully immersive sound experience that elevates at-home viewing and provides customers with a front-row seat to their favourite movies, TV shows and content.”
The Sony HT-G700 has been introduced with a price tag of $599.99 that translates to Rs 45,300. It will be currently available for purchase in the US via Amazon, Best Buy and other authorised dealers but it will be available in the Indian market very soon.

The HT-G700 soundbar is best suitable for watching TV shows and Movies. It is compatible with Television, 4K Blu-ray player, set-top box or a gaming console with an HDMI port. It can also be easily connected to your device with the help of Bluetooth for streaming music wirelessly or use the HDMI eARC/ARC or optical digital input for full-bandwidth sound.. The Sony soundbar comes with various modes for a better audio experience such as Cinema mode and Music mode that delivers a detailed audio experience while watching a movie or listening to your favourite track. Moreover, there is a Voice mode to customise sound settings to accentuate speech whereas the Night mode optimizes the sound balance to offer clearer sound, even at low volume levels.
The HT-G700 is supported by Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Vertical Surround Engine offering a theatre-like audio experience. The vertical centre speaker has three front speakers which are combined with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Vertical Surround Engine to produce vertical audio in order to create virtual surround sound. Whereas the wireless subwoofer is capable of delivering a deeper, richer bass sound.
“Hit the Immersive AE (Audio Enhancement) button and the HT-G700 can upscale even regular stereo audio to 7.1.2 surround sound—so every TV show and movie gets the surround sound treatment.”
According to the company, the soundbar has been fine-tuned with S-Force PRO technology that enhanced the sound to fit larger TV screen heights over 55 inches for a more immersive experience.
