Sony has introduced its latest professional camera, therefore, expanding its Cinema line in India. The Sony FX3 Full-Frame camera has been launched in India for content creators. It borrows its advanced imaging features from Alpha mirrorless cameras to deliver a cinematic look, professional operability and reliability. All this in a compact lightweight body, therefore, providing mobility. In addition to this, the latest addition to Sony’s Cinema Line, the FX3 comes with advanced heat dissipation for extended recording times.

Sony FX3 Full-Frame camera is now available in India with a price tag of Rs 3,99,990. It can be purchased via select Sony Centers and Alpha Flagship stores in the country. The camera comes with 3 years warranty (2 Years Standard Warranty + 1 Year Additional Warranty) only upon registration at https://alphacommunity.in/offers/1/3-years-warranty. Sony FX3 Full-Frame camera specifications
Speaking of the specifications, Sony FX3 Full-Frame camera features a 10.2-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated CMOS Exmor R sensor and BIONZ XR image processing engine that ensures high sensitivity with low noise. Moreover, the camera offers an ISO range starting from 80 and going up to 102,400. It should be noted that the ISO is expandable to 409,600 for very low light conditions and 15+ stops of dynamic range.
In order to achieve deeper depth, the Sony FX3 allows users to create a cinematic look without post-production using S-Cinetone which is inspired by Sony’s flagship VENICE camera. It delivers natural mid-tones, plus soft colours and smooth highlights that are essential to a cinematic look. In addition to this, the user can also do in-camera 4K recording at up to 120 frames per second.
Talking about the design, the new Sony FX3 Full-Frame camera is ideal for handheld shooting, gimbal and drone-mounted work because of its compact and lightweight body. The device weighs just 715 grams. The buttons for ISO adjustment, iris, white balance are located on the grip and on the top of the body. In addition to this, there is an adjustable vari-angle touch-panel LCD monitor that allows for easy operation and is suitable for gimbal-mounted shots, complicated angles, handheld operation and more.
The FX3’s body features five thread holes (1/4-20 UNC) to easily attach compatible accessories. It comes with an XLR handle unit that securely attaches to the body via the Multi Interface Shoe without any special tools. It can be used to enable high-quality audio as it includes two XLR/TRS audio inputs to the FX3. With an optional XLR microphone, digital audio data can be directly transferred to the camera for outstanding audio quality.
Additionally, the Sony FX3 camera features 5-axis optical in-body image stabilisation. A high precision stabilisation unit and gyro sensors have made it possible to provide an Active Mode that is dedicated to movie shooting in each format, including 4K. Also, there is Fast Hybrid autofocus (AF) which uses 627 points focal plane phase-detection system during movie recording. The camera is further enhanced with Touch Tracking (Real-time Tracking) where simply touching the desired subject on the monitor screen initiates autofocus and tracking on that subject.
Besides this, the digital camera also includes a fan for active cooling with effective heat dissipation resulting in an uninterrupted 4K 60p recording without thermal shutdown. The newly developed fan is said to provide high-efficiency cooling.
