Enter Sony’s new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI-driven upscaling technology that uses machine learning to provide crystal-clear visuals by filling in fine details. Whether you’re exploring the vast landscapes of The Last of Us Part II Remastered or traversing the neon-lit streets in Cyberpunk 2077, PSSR aims to bring out every intricate element, making each scene more vivid and engaging.
According to Hideaki Nishino, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Platform Business Group, the PS5 Pro was designed with “the most dedicated gamers and game creators in mind.” This advanced tech, Nishino explains, “enhances gameplay, allowing players to experience games as developers intended.” And that’s not just marketing talk; some of the biggest game studios have already released updates to optimize their games for the PS5 Pro.
Game Library and Pro Enhanced Titles
A selection of top games is also receiving free updates to harness the PS5 Pro’s power, adding an extra layer of refinement to already impressive titles. Look for improved visuals and performance boosts in fan favourites like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Hogwarts Legacy, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. These enhancements make full use of the Pro’s hardware, allowing players to rediscover games in a new light.

Sony PlayStation 5 Pro Release: Pricing and Availability
The PS5 Pro is available at a retail price of $699.99 (Rs 59,000 approx) in the US, £699.99 in the UK, €799.99 in Europe, and ¥119,980 in Japan. Each console package comes equipped with a DualSense wireless controller, a 2TB solid-state drive, and a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom to get players started.
For those curious about connectivity, the PS5 Pro supports Wi-Fi 7, provided it’s available in the region. This means quicker download times and more stable online gaming sessions, even for data-heavy titles.
Update from Sony – PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries (which presently includes India) where 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) has not yet been allowed.
