Android users can share Spotify content, such as songs, albums, and podcasts, using WhatsApp Status, similar to Instagram Stories. The Spotify cards will have a title, cover image, and an audio excerpt. This WhatsApp Status integration is now going out in stages, so not all users will see it immediately.

WhatsApp Status has been updated to allow users to share Spotify content such as songs, albums, podcasts, and more, in addition to the existing capabilities of photos, videos, voice notes, and text, which are active for 24 hours. This new integration, which is similar to existing functionality with Meta’s Instagram and Facebook, allows users to share particular Spotify things, such as playlists and audiobooks. When the content is shared, a visual card is generated that includes the title and cover art, as well as a short audio preview that plays when friends and family watch it. Additionally, an “Open in Spotify” link is provided to provide immediate access to the shared content via the Spotify app or online client.

WhatsApp Status integration for Spotify is presently being pushed out internationally to both Free and Premium users, albeit it will be a slow process that may take some time to fully implement. This functionality will be available for both free and premium Spotify users in the coming weeks. Users will discover it under the Spotify app’s Share option. In addition to sharing Spotify tracks, playlists, and podcasts in individual WhatsApp chats, the WhatsApp Status integration enables users to share their musical choices with a larger audience all at once.

Spotify allows users to share content in several ways, going beyond WhatsApp. Users can send shared content straight through the Spotify app’s Messages feature. Users may also post songs on their Instagram Story and Notes. Spotify content, such as tracks, albums, playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks, may also be shared using TikTok’s green screen feature or Photo Mode, sent via TikTok Messages, or posted to a Snapchat Story. Finally, users may include music in their Facebook Story or Feed post, expanding the channels for sharing Spotify’s musical offerings.
