Telegram, the instant messaging app, has released a new update to its millions of users. Several new features are incorporated in the most recent version, including live comments and reactions during group calls and video chats, contact notes, suggested birthdays, and improved profile colour customisation options. Users may also expect threaded chats and responses streaming for AI bots, gift-related upgrades, and the launch of Liquid Glass on iOS.
Participants in group calls and video chats may now enhance engagement by using live comments and reactions that appear quickly on-screen. Users may use emojis or short messages for various purposes, including showing appreciation, confirming details, or interacting while muted. This function is suitable for group calls and video chats with less than 1,000 people, providing a dynamic and expressive aspect to conversations.
Telegram for iOS has released a Liquid Glass interface that is compatible with Apple’s iOS 26 design. This version features a revamped bottom navigation bar, keyboard, and sticker panel, which now incorporate translucent elements and a refraction effect, making the entire user experience smoother and more immersive.
Users may now enhance their Telegram contacts by adding private notes when saving or editing. These comments, which are only available to the user, enable personalised contact list organisation by including facts such as how they met or other important personal information, which is shown beneath the contact’s bio. Additionally, Telegram adds a function that suggests birthdays when changing contact information, allowing users to send thoughtful messages or gifts on certain occasions. Users may also add their own birthdays using the Settings menu, Edit > Date of Birth.

Premium users may now tweak their appearance via the main Settings page, which includes collectable gift backdrops and profile cover symbols. Some gifts allow you to use exclusive reply styles and link themes. Telegram has improved its bot capabilities by offering threaded conversations and real-time streaming responses, which help users manage multiple topics and improve participation. Furthermore, developers are urged to monetise bots through subscription models, which will help advance the AI ecosystem. The gift-sending interface has been streamlined to display all presents, including those from the Gift Marketplace, in a single list. A new time-based price reduction system for gift upgrades has also been implemented, which will make collectables more accessible over time.

Telegram has added numerous new features aimed at improving the user experience. Users may now remove gift signatures using Telegram Stars, which allows for personalised message concealment or increased resale value of collectables. Furthermore, blockchain gifts may be shown on user profiles by linking accounts to Fragment, assuring transparency and ownership of digital collectables. Furthermore, the long-standing Bug and Suggestion Platform has been upgraded to an official Mini App, allowing users to easily report bugs or make suggestions within the app.
