People today have become so dependent on smartphones that they would be disabled if we were to remove the phones from their daily lives. Be it to talk, read, watch, socialize, navigate or to listen to music, our smartphones have become a part of our lives. It has become an inseparable part of us, but sometimes one thinks if such close proximity is good. There might be many benefits from the use of smartphones but every coin has two sides. As a recent report by Statista found out that some of the most used and popular smartphones were emitting dangerous levels of radiation. Such levels of radiation is not good for human health.
There is no universal guideline for safe SAR levels, the German certification for environmental friendliness ‘Der Blaue Engel’ (Blue Angel) only certifies phones which have absorption rate of less than 0.60 watts per kilogram. In US, SAR levels at or below 1.6 watts per kilogram is permitted while their European counterparts allows SAR levels of under 2 watts per kilogram. And India follows the US model of allowing and measuring SAR levels which is 1.6 watts per kilogram.
On that note and on the latest report of Statista, here is the top 16 phones which emit the most SAR levels:
1Xiaomi Mi A1
Mi A1SAR level: 1.75 W/kg
