Truecaller seems to be testing a new feature that lets its users make voice calls over data. Truecaller has gained immense popularity because of its useful features that let us identify spam calls, block phone numbers and know who is calling us from unknown phone numbers. Very recently it also crossed the milestone of 100 million users in India. With the ability to make calls over data, Truecaller will become attractive to more potential users in the country.
Right now, this feature is available to a small number of users in India who have a premium account. Truecaller is yet to officially confirm the rollout of VoIP feature for all Truecaller Premium users.
Popularly known as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calling, Truecaller’s VoIP feature works like calls on other popular apps like WhatsApp and Google Duo. The app has a devoted ‘Voice’ button which starts VoIP call when tapped. This feature is very useful when the users don’t have sufficient balance to make a voice call but are nonetheless are connected to the Internet. If the voice option is available, then users will be able to the voice calls for free over the internet like WhatsApp voice calling.
VoIP feature is now available to some Truecaller Premium users, but it is not fully available to all users. So, the company appears to be testing the feature currently and it has been made available for select users in India.
Recently Truecaller has gained immense popularity because of its useful features that let us identify spam calls, block phone numbers and know who is calling us from unknown phone numbers.
This popular app allows you to send and receive money so for its feature Truecaller Pay it has tied up with over 80 banks like HDFC and ICICI. To use this feature, users can create their Computer-generated Payment Address and then send or receive money using UPI from their contacts on Truecaller. If you have a bank account you can add your bank account details on Truecaller, then you will be able to check your account balance, make payments via the app itself. You can also get recharges done and making various payments through the app.
Other than that, you can also make a video call to your contacts. We should mention that the call will actually be made via Google Duo.
The app also lets you record your phone calls. All you have to do tap the hamburger icon which is on the top left of your app and selects ‘Call Recordings’. Then press ‘Start’ and call recording will be enabled on your app.
