Last week Twitter paused taking requests for the new verifications on its platform. The microblogging site relaunched the verification programme on May 20 but on receiving a large number of application the company had to stop accepting new applications. As promised the San Francisco, California-headquartered company has again reopened the Twitter verification requests and will begin awarding blue badge to the verified accounts.
Twitter has resumed the process of taking user requests for their profile verification after four days halt. The social media platform informed about resuming the programme via Tweet which read, “Requests are Open! Sorry about that pause- now you can get back to your quest for a blue badge.”
Those who are unaware the microblogging site has restarted the verification application process after more than four years. It started taking user requests for the profile verification from May 20 but had to pause the allocation process just after one week it was restarted after 2017. It informed the user via tweet reading, “We’re rolling in verification requests. So we gotta hit pause on accepting any more for now while we review the ones that have been submitted. We’ll reopen requests soon! (We pinky swear)”
How to get verified on Twitter?
In order to get that blue badge on Twitter and steal the spotlight. So to become Twitter verified you have to follow these simple steps :
All the users will now start seeing the new verification application in the Account Settings tab. So firstly to need to provide whether you fall under these six eligible categories-
- Government
- Companies, brands, and non-profit organization
- News organizations and journalists
- Entertainment
- Sports and esports
- Activists, organizers, and other influential individuals
If you belong to one of the six eligible categories then you can apply for verification on the microblogging platform. Also, you are required to upload your valid ID proof issued by the Government such as passport and driving license, AADHAR, Voter ID card for authentication. Also, you need to enter your official email address or provide an official website link that is linked to your Twitter account
Go to your setting and privacy section then tap on the account and settings option. After this open Account information and tap Verification Request. After this tap on Start Request and then Submit.
You will then receive an emailed response from Twitter once you have submitted your application. The whole process from accepting your verification request to start showing the blue badge on your profile will take weeks. However, you can again apply for this after 30 days if your application is not approved.
