Western Digital launched My Passport HDD with up to 5TB storage in India

The My Passport drive comes in two storage options 1TB and 5TB

Today, Western Digital announced the launch of its new My Passport HDD in India. The portable hard disk will be available in two storage options of 1TB and 5TB. According to the company, it is the slimmest 5TB HDD. 

These days people look out for portable hard drives that are compact as well as reliable.The latest generation of My Passport HDD  is up to 30% smaller than its predecessor and comes with much higher capacity. The device comes integrated with WD Backup software that makes sure that photos, videos, music and documents don’t get lost.

“People today want a storage device that matches their lifestyle: compact, snazzy, yet reliable. From listening to our customers, we keep innovating and introducing attractive products for them. Our award-winning My Passport line is now enhanced with the slimmest 5TB portable hard drive in the WD brand portfolio. As the study points out, people find the process of backing up data inconvenient and time-consuming. Our new My Passport addresses this concern and offers automatic back up, where a user can just pick the time and frequency to back up important files from their system onto their My Passport drive,” said Mr. Khalid Wani, Direct Channel Sales, Western Digital India.

The latest edition of My Passport comes with an automatic back up where the users can transfer their important files from their system to their to the device at a much faster speed. It comes in a fresh new look and is also offered in new colour options Black, Blue and Red, and My Passport for Mac drive in Midnight Blue.

The new My Passport HDD is 0.75 in (19.15mm) thick and has been formulates for Windows 10. It comes with a USB 3.0 connector that is compatible with USB 2.0. The HDD for Mac is formatted for macOS and it features a USB-C connector to deliver plug-and-play storage. It can be used to store, organize and share a tremendous amount of photos, videos, music and documents.

WD My Passport HDD will be available for purchase via all the leading e-commerce platforms as well as retailers in the country. The My Passport drives 1TB storage variant will be available with a price tag of Rs 4,499 whereas the 5TB will cost you Rs 10,999.
