Xiaomi 17 Series and Xiaomi Pad 8 India launch date announced

Xiaomi plans to introduce its 17 series and Xiaomi Pad 8 in India during the second week of March, according to a dedicated webpage. The series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a powerful 6,000mAh battery. However, price information has yet to be shared. This launch event follows a global event hosted late last month to highlight the new range of smartphones.

Xiaomi held a global launch event on February 28 to announce the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and Xiaomi Pad 8. In a post on X, the company announced the launch of these gadgets in India on March 11. To give further information, a new microsite for the phones has been created, detailing key features.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Mi 17 are set to debut in India, where they will be available for purchase on Amazon and the Xiaomi India online shop. The firm has yet to provide price information for its upcoming smartphones in India.

However, the Xiaomi 17 is priced globally at EUR 999, or about Rs 1,07,449 for the edition with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The higher-end Xiaomi 17 Ultra, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, costs EUR 1,499, or about Rs 1,61,264.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is priced at EUR 449.9, or about Rs 48,397, for the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

According to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra microsite, this model’s specifications are in line with those of its globally available counterparts. The gadget will be powered by Qualcomm’s powerful octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is created with cutting-edge 3nm technology. Furthermore, it will have LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 onboard storage, assuring outstanding performance and efficiency.

HyperOS 3, an Android 16-based operating system, will power the Xiaomi 17 Ultra when it launches in India. It comes with an excellent 6,000mAh battery, which provides enough juice for extended usage. The phone has fast charging capabilities, including 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, enabling quick battery replenishment. Users may anticipate up to 1.5 days of use on a single charge, demonstrating the device’s efficiency. Furthermore, even after 1,600 charging cycles, the battery is said to retain around 80% of its original capacity, showing a long-lasting battery performance.
