Xiaomi Mi 11 series to launch today: Everything you should know about the expected pricing and specifications

Xiaomi Mi 11 series is all set to be unveiled today. The company’s next-generation Mi flagship will be launched in China. This is the first smartphone series to be powered by Qualcomm’s top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Yes, the American company’s latest chipset is going to debut with the launch of Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi-series phone. The Mi 11 has purportedly surfaced on Geekbench in the past and the rumour mill suggests it to include two devices, a standard model alongside Mi 11 Pro having similar form factor and a curved display. In addition to this, both the phones are also said to come with a glass back. The company has recently confirmed to not include a power adapter in the box following the footprints of Apple.

Xiaomi has set the launch of Mi 11 series today in China. The launch is going to be held virtually which will kickstart at 7:30 pm CST Asia (5 pm IST). The device is expected to go on sale early January 2021. Although the company has not confirmed but the series should also include Mi 11 Pro.

As for the pricing, the new line up of smartphones will be pricier than the existing Mi 10 series. The Mi 11 is tipped to come in three variants of 8GB RAM with 128GB option priced at RMB 4,500 that translates to Rs 51,000 whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage is tilled to come at RMB 4,800 that comes around 54,000. Whereas the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is likely to come at RMB 5,200 that translates to Rs 58,500.

Xiaomi Mi 11 series is tipped to feature a curved display design with thin bezels. The recently leaked images of a screen protector also suggest a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone is said to have a QHD+ display with up to 120Hz of refresh rate.

The leaked images show a matte finish on the back of Mi 11. The company is said to have a leather finish on the rear of the smartphone. In addition to this, there will be a triple rear camera module along with an LED flash.

On the other hand, some of the marketing images have been leaked that have revealed four colour options.

Speaking of the specification Mi11 is going to include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is likely to include a 6.7-inch AMOLED HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it will run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 out of the box.

Xiaomi Mi 11 will feature a triple rear camera set up which is rumoured to pack a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM3 Bright main sensor paired with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5-megapixel lens. On the other hand, the Mi 11 Pro is suggested to include a 192-megapixel sensor with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The company in the past has confirmed the upcoming smartphone will be supported by computational photography for better results. Apart from this, both the smartphone will further include Snapdragon 888 chipset with LPDDR5 RAM support with Wi-Fi 6 support.
