On it’s on its official forum post-MIUI Community forums, announced that it will end its global MIUI beta program for all devices from July 1. Xiaomi says it wants to limit its beta testing and update devices under Mi and Redmi branding more regularly.
In order to deliver a stable experience to its users, Xiaomi has decided to suspend the release of MIUI Global Beta ROM updates for all its devices. Right now Xiaomi has been delivering MIUI updates through two prominent channels, namely Beta and Stable, and the most recent decision is restricted to the beta only. Which means the Xiaomi will not bring any modifications to its stable version. The company is also promising that it will be delivering stable versions more frequently.
Xiaomi realized that day to day beta version users are increasing. Xiaomi was stunned to see the increasing number of people using the beta version. The Company quoted on its official forum that MIUI Global Beta ROM releases are meant for public testing, and it is not meant to deliver a new experience to its users. The MIUI Global Beta ROM builds carry bugs also is only meant for testing purposes only. In order to test the early editions, the user faces so many issues that impact the user experience and confines the stability, which is the biggest reason behind the ending which is the bi which is apparently the primary concern behind the suspension of the MIUI beta program.
On its official MIUI forum post the company quoted that “As the MIUI experience has matured, the need for stability is becoming increasingly more important. In order to meet the demands of most of our users and release stable version updates more frequently, our team of engineers has decided to stop releasing the global version of MIUI Beta for all devices starting July 1, 2019.”
Recently, Xiaomi announced that it will be discontinuing the MIUI Beta program for some of its budget phones and models that are over one year old in China. The company announced that this policy will be effective from July, 5 this year.
The company’s official forum post says that, for MIUI updates effective from July 5, 2019 the company will be adopting a new policy for the software. The company will stop developing MIUI beta builds for new Redmi smartphones.
The company has considerably expanded over the years so it wants to focus on a more stable experience for its software.
