Android smartphones used to let you create custom haptic patterns for calls and notifications. Unfortunately, this feature was discontinued a few years ago. Apart from choosing from a few preset patterns, users cannot control how their phone vibrates. This is in sharp contrast to iPhones, which let you create new haptic patterns. However, Samsung users can get around this shortcoming using the Good Lock customisation app. Here’s how you can create custom vibration patterns for ringtones and notifications on your Samsung phone.

Before you begin

Custom vibration patterns are more handy than you think. A unique haptic trigger is instantly recognisable and can separate important notifications from the sea of spam. You can also set up custom vibration patterns for different contacts on your phone. Instant messaging apps like WhatsApp let you set custom ringtones and vibration patterns for specific contacts.

While most Android phones do not have a native tool to create new vibration patterns, Samsung users are in luck. The ever-so-useful Good Lock app has a ‘Sound Assistant’ plugin that gives you some control over the haptic motor in your device. Once you’ve created a new pattern, you can view it in the ‘Sound and vibration’ section in device settings.

Other Android users can turn to the Buzzkill Notification Manager app for the same task. The great thing about this app is that it lets you pick custom notification vibration patterns for individual apps. The only downside is that the app isn’t free to download. Currently, it is priced at Rs 99.99 on the Google Play Store. 

Create a custom vibration pattern for ringtones and notifications on your Samsung phone

Step 1: Go to the Galaxy Store and download the Sound Assistant app. This app serves as a plugin for the Good Lock app.

Step 2: Launch the Good Lock app on your phone and switch to the Plugins tab.

Step 3: Select Sound Assistant.

At the ongoing MWC 2025, HMD will unveil new feature phones, audio gadgets, and more. Drew Barrymore will be at MWC, and a collaboration is being unveiled. HMD is launching the HMD 130 and 150 Music phones in an effort to grab market share. The HMD Fusion X1 will be part of HMD’s Family portfolio, which aims to promote digital habits. HMD is also working with Xplora to tackle a global mental health and safety crisis using children’s technology.

At MWC 2025, HMD rebranded and welcomed Drew Barrymore, an entrepreneur, actress, and mother of two. Barrymore emphasised the need to rethink how we interact with technology, claiming that it has taken advantage of the exhausted parent. She also hinted at an impending collaboration geared at challenging the status quo, revealing the new initiative’s code name, ‘Project Wildflower’. Barrymore’s mission is to bring patience from the past into the future in order to create a more human-centered environment.

The HMD 130 and 150 Music mobile phones include a retro candy bar design, an FM radio, a long battery life and remarkable durability. They may last up to a month on a single charge in standby mode and feature Bluetooth 5.0 and microSD cards for hours of playing. The HMD 130 has a twin torch at the top, whilst the HMD 150 includes a QVGA camera and a torch for retro-style photos. These phones come in Dark Grey, Blue, and Red, as well as Dark Grey, Midnight Purple, and Aqua Blue.

The world’s largest tech event, Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, is scheduled to begin on March 3, and before the event, Tecno has introduced a new wearable. The firm has unveiled Tecno AI Glasses and Tecno AI Glasses Pro, but the wearables will be officially launched at MWC 2025. TECNO’s first AI glasses series support AI-powered capabilities such as object detection and text summarisation.

Tecno has launched two pairs of smart glasses, the AI Glasses and the AI Glasses Pro, both of which have an AI assistant. According to GSMArena, the company will also launch three new Megabook laptops (S14, T14, and K15S), TECNO CAMON 40 Series and two wearables (True 2 earphones and Watch GT 1) during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.

The wearables’ complete specifications have not yet been disclosed by the firm, but it is anticipated that they will be displayed during the AI keynote.

The Vivo T4x 5G India launch date has been announced, and the manufacturer has teased the design of the upcoming phone. The phone is believed to have the largest battery in its segment, following the Vivo T3x 5G’s 6,000mAh battery. It is rumoured to boast military-grade ruggedness, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor.

The Vivo T4x 5G will be released in India on March 5 at noon. The phone will be offered in purple and blue, with Pronto Purple and Marine Blue also being considered. As soon as the gadget is released, it will be available for purchase through Flipkart, Vivo India’s e-store, and select offline retail outlets.

The Vivo T4x 5G design was shown in an X post, with a rectangular camera module with rounded edges, two sensors, and Dynamic Light.

The Vivo T4x 5G is likely to have the largest battery in its segment, at 6,500 mAh. The Vivo T3x 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. It has a 6.72-inch full-HD display, a 50-megapixel main camera with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone’s construction is rated IP64. It has Android 14 pre-installed.

The device was launched in India in April last year with a price tag of Rs 13,499 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option. The Samsung Galaxy M16 5G and M06 5G have been announced in India. The newly launched phones come equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipsets, 5,000mAh batteries, 50-megapixel cameras, and a 6.7-inch HD+ display. Both phones include side-mounted fingerprint sensors.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy M16 5G in India starts at Rs 11,499 for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. There are two more variants, 8GB RAM and 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage, priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 14,499, respectively.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy M06 5G price in India starts at Rs 9,499 for the base 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and Rs 10,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option.
