Over the years, CES has carved out a special place for automotive tech, where big automakers are given a platform to unveil and release their newest offerings. In 2026, automotive tech at CES was all about concept cars, AI assistants, and in-cabin tech. Here are some of our favourite showcases from this year.

Sony Afeela 1

Sony Afeela 1

Made in collaboration with Sony and Honda, the Afeela 1 prototype made its debut at CES 2023. Last year, Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) showcased the pre-production model. This year, SHM displayed a new Afeela Prototype alongside the updated version of the Afeela 1 pre-production model. The Afeela 1 is set to reach customers by the end of the year, fetching $89,900. It will come in 3 colours – Tidal Gray, Calm White, and Core Black. While its sales are currently limited to California, SHM plans to expand to Arizona in 2027. It will also start delivering to Japan in early 2027. The new Afeela Prototype SUV will be ready for launch in 2028.

This AI-powered car assistant made its debut on the iX3, but BMW says it will reach the rest of its lineup by 2027. The personal assistant reaffirms the automaker’s guiding principle of ‘Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road’. It is integrated with Amazon Alexa+, which helps it carry out natural conversations with the driver and passengers. BMW is the first automaker to collaborate with Amazon and bring Alexa+ to its platform.

NVIDIA Alpamayo

NVIDIA is one of the big players tackling the challenges presented by autonomous driving. It unveiled the Alpamayo 1 at CES 2026, the industry’s first chain-of-thought reasoning Vision Action Language (VLA) model. This model has a 10-billion-parameter architecture, which enables it to assess visual input and generate trajectories and reasoning traces. Developers can use this model to create reasoning-based evaluators and auto-labelling systems. The Alpamayo will bring human-like thinking to Autonomous Vehicles (AV), making the decision-making process more accurate and reasonable. 

Garmin Unified Cabin/Meta Neural Band

Garmin and Meta came together to show an automotive OEM proof of concept that combines the Neural Band (Meta) with Unified Cabin (Garmin). The result is a product that allows passengers to control the infotainment functions of their car using simple hand gestures made by the thumb, index, and middle fingers. The Neural Band’s EMG technology to detect these gestures while the Unified Cabin uses them for novel in-cabin experiences. Some of Unified Cabin’s features include Digital key, AI Virtual Assistant capable of executing multiple actions from one voice command, Cabin Chat, Cabin Lighting Show, and Personal Audio Sphere

Gentex is one of the biggest manufacturers of digital rearview mirrors, driving assistance systems, and in-cabin monitoring systems. At CES 2026, it had five different exhibit areas showcasing its products. But what caught our attention was its next-generation Full Display Mirror (FDM). It delivers sharper images and detailed visuals using its 8MP HD camera and upgraded display. The 4K footage captured by the camera allows the display to zoom in without losing much detail. The Dynamic View Adjustment (DVA) feature enables speed-optimised POV, zooming out for a wider visual at slow speeds and zooming in for precision at high speeds. Reversing the vehicle gives you a downward view in the mirror, making it easier to park your car.

This battery will power Verge Motorcycles’ current lineup by the end of the first quarter of 2026. It delivers 400 Wh/kg of energy density and can be fully charged in just 5 minutes without limiting charging to 80%. Donut Labs claims that its solid-state battery is good for up to 100,000 cycles. It retains 90% of its capacity in extreme temperatures of –30°C and 100°C. Donut Labs has paid special attention to the safety of this battery, using no flammable liquid electrolytes, thermal runaway chains, or metallic dendrites.

The Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Generation 4 SoC, while the Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Max SoC.

Price in India, Availability

Realme introduced the Realme 16 Pro 5G and the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G. The Realme 16 Pro 5G starts at Rs 31,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the 256GB option costs Rs 33,999. The top option, which includes 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, costs Rs 36,999. Realme is offering a bank discount of Rs 3,000 or an exchange bonus of Rs 5,000 for consumers who buy the phone through Flipkart, as well as an additional Rs 1,000 advantage for existing Realme customers.

In contrast, the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G costs Rs 39,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and Rs 41,999 for the 256GB variant. The highest option, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, costs Rs 44,999. Flipkart consumers receive an instant bank discount of Rs 4,000, while existing Realme customers receive an extra Rs 1,000 advantage on their purchase.

Specifications, Features

The Pro+ model has a high-resolution 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a pixel count of 1,280×2,800, allowing for an amazing maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. Furthermore, it has an excellent touch sampling rate of up to 240 Hz, which improves responsiveness while in use. With a maximum brightness of 6,500 nits, the display guarantees visibility in bright environments. It supports the full DCI/P3 colour gamut and can render 1.07 billion different colours, resulting in a rich and colourful viewing experience.

In comparison, the 16 Pro has a comparatively smaller display (6.78 inches) with a resolution of 1,272×2,772 pixels. Although its peak brightness is slightly lower (1,400 nits), it has a pixel density of 450 ppi. Notably, the Realme 16 Pro 5G matches the Pro+ model in terms of the highest refresh rate and DCI-P3 colour gamut, giving consumers comparable smooth visuals and colour performance but with a lower peak brightness and a slightly lower resolution.

The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz and an Adreno 722 GPU, while the Realme 16 Pro 5G is driven by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset and an Arm Mali G615. Both versions are dust and water-resistant with IP66, IP68, and IP69K certifications, and they run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16.

Both devices have nearly identical camera specifications, including a primary rear camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.8, backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G variant has an extra 50-megapixel telephoto camera with an aperture of f/2.8. The Pro+ model can also capture video in 4K quality at a frame rate of up to 60 fps. Both variants have a 50-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.4.

Launched in India this week, the Redmi Note 15 5G is now available for purchase in the market. The device is priced at Rs 19,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model. The 256GB storage model costs Rs 21,999. The device is available via the Xiaomi India website, retail partners, and Amazon in the country. It comes in black, glacier blue, and misty purple colour options.

These prices include an Rs 3,000 bank discount that is only available for purchases made with Axis, ICICI Bank, and SBI Card transactions. Customers may also choose a package that includes two months of YouTube Premium, three months of Spotify Premium Standard, and six months of Google One access for free.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 CPU, which provides powerful performance. Users will get 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM for effective multitasking, as well as a huge storage capacity of up to 256GB via UFS 2.2. Furthermore, the device supports MicroSD storage expansion, providing additional flexibility for customers who need more capacity for apps, videos, and files.

It enables the model to respond to the user’s sounds and actions, allowing them to bring their imaginative sequences to life. As of now, LEGO has 3 Star Wars Smart Play sets in its catalogue. The Oppo Pad 5 runs ColorOS 16, which is based on Android 16. The tablet has a powerful octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor with an Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. This powerful combination is backed by 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of swift UFS 3.1 internal storage. These components work together to provide strong performance that can handle a wide range of tasks and meet the demands of multiple applications.

The tablet’s 12.1-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 2.8K (2,800×1,980 pixels). It offers a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and has an outstanding touch sampling rate of up to 540 Hz. Furthermore, it supports 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering vivid, accurate colour reproduction. The screen can reach a maximum brightness of 900 nits and has a pixel density of 284 pixels per inch (ppi).

The Oppo Pad 5 has only one 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, a 77-degree field of view, and focusing capabilities. For selfies and video conferencing, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The tablet can record video at a quality of up to 1080p, which allows for 30 frames per second.

The tablet comes with a powerful 10,050 mAh battery that supports 33 W SuperVOOC wired fast charging for speedy recharges. Users may assign customised identifiers that represent their roles in multiple group chats by using member tags. People may use this feature to explain how they got involved in each group, for example, by identifying themselves as “Anna’s Dad” in one discussion and “Goalkeeper” in another. By making members’ duties clear and interactions more realistic, these tags improve communication.

CMF has announced the launch date of the CMF Headphone Pro in India. This comes after its initial global release in September 2025. Along with the headphones, CMF will unveil the CMF Watch 3 Pro. The CMF Headphone Pro, which is slated to be available in three colours in India, has an impressive battery life of up to 100 hours and has an energy slider. Pricing information for the Indian market has not yet been confirmed.

On January 13, 2026, CMF plans to introduce the Headphone Pro, its first over-ear headphone model, in India. Grey, black, and green are the colours available for the over-ear headphones. It has also been announced that the CMF Watch 3 Pro and the Headphone Pro will be released together.
