Additionally, it highlights the emphasis on lifestyle design, presenting the earbuds as a fashion accessory rather than just technology. This is accentuated by the monochromatic style, where the matching mint-colored leather wrap and plastic chassis create a coordinated colour scheme.
Additionally, the faux-leather texture and the inner plastic tray help bolster the unified mint look and give the whole aesthetic a clean and attractive look. One of the highlights of the design is the Flex Leather, which enhances the earphones’ visual appeal and provides a matte, high-friction grip. This is a particularly great feature, as it prevents slipping and keeps the earphones in place even when the hands are sweaty.
The equipment is prone to picking up dust and dirt. The lighter colour means it may scuff and turn grey when stored next to other objects, such as keys or pens. Also, brighter colours tend to show wear and tear faster than darker colours.

It is essential to note, however, that the clip is firmly tensioned and may be uncomfortable. People with thicker ear cartilage might experience some pinching, whereas those with thinner ears may find the fit too loose, potentially impacting sound quality. Additionally, users need to adjust to this design and accurately position the speaker in their ear canal to achieve optimal sound performance.
Sound Performance
Sound quality is essential, as these earbuds compensate for their design not being completely inserted in the ear. So let’s first talk about the sound quality, and then we will go on to the quad-mic setup performance.
TruClips have customised 12mm drivers that provide a 360-degree spatial soundstage for a superior audio experience. The drivers provide decent clarity in the mids and highs, with voices and podcast audio being crisp and clear regardless of any background noise. But there is a difference in the bass response due to the smaller driver size. You can definitely feel the beat, but the deep sub-bass that is often preferred for hip-hop, EDM, etc, is significantly missing when compared to bigger drivers.
TruClips are engineered to provide an immersive audio experience that seems like it surrounds your head, rather than sound being projected straight into your ear canal. The spatial audio capabilities come at a cheap price, but they can also add artificial reverb. The sound is a little distorted, especially when playing high-fidelity music songs.
For optimal sound quality, set the volume between 60% and 80%, as volumes above 80% tend to leak significantly. This leak occurs because of the high sound projection, making it easy for others nearby to recognise the music. Overall, the TruClips do a very good job of presenting vocals clearly and providing an airy soundstage, but if you’re someone who likes a lot of bass, you may be disappointed. Also, the spatial effects may not be as effective depending on the quality of the music you’re playing.
With Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) and an effective quad-microphone array, the TruClips are a perfect choice as a lifestyle accessory as well as a functional work tool. They are open-ear buds that are particularly designed to capture clear voice communication while filtering out background noise. In a quiet area such as a home office, the quad-mic system isolates your voice for natural and clean call audio.
The design optimises microphone positioning to reduce wind interference; thus, the TruClips are well-suited to walking or gentle running. Another thing to consider is the placement of the microphone on the ear clips; sometimes it can accidentally pick up more surrounding conversations than traditional earbuds. Also, users may have to crank up the volume, however, to hear calls over surrounding noise. This condition may lead to sound leakage concerns, and others around may be able to hear the conversation.
The battery life of the truke TruClips is rather good, with a total of 55 hours of playing, including the charging case. The earphones alone last for 8 to 10 hours on a single charge, depending on the volume level. This makes them perfect for long usage, allowing for 4 to 5 days of listening without the need to recharge.
Users should note that activating Gaming Mode with 40ms low latency or playing at high levels (90-100%) can cut the playback time to around 40-45 hours. The earbuds feature a quick USB Type-C charging option, where a 10-minute charge provides approximately 2 hours of use. This is particularly handy in emergencies when you’re in a hurry, like heading to the gym or a meeting. However, the charging case itself takes a usual amount of time to fully recharge, as opposed to the fast charging feature of the earbuds.
The audio device uses Bluetooth 5.4 technology and can connect to two devices at once, for example, a laptop and a smartphone; however, you may notice a slight delay of 1–2 seconds when switching between devices. The device also offers one-step pairing, which results in an almost immediate connection after the first setup.
The gadget works consistently up to a distance of about 10 metres; however, physical obstructions may cause audio stuttering, which is to say that thick walls or other obstacles can impact performance.
The touch zones are on the outer part of the speaker, equipped with highly sensitive sensors that detect light touches. This creates a more user-friendly experience by reducing discomfort from hard taps. It’s more convenient to use, supporting functions like play/pause, track skipping, call management, and voice assistant activation. However, a significant issue is accidental touches. When adjusting the speaker clips, we often unintentionally activate the touch sensors, leading to disruptions such as hanging up calls or stopping music.
