Fastrack’s newest budget smartwatch packs some interesting AI features. You can use it to trigger your smartphone’s default AI assistant and get the answers to your queries directly on your wrist. For those who value aesthetics, MYND’s companion app has an AI watch face generator. On paper, these features seem like needle-movers, especially on a smartwatch priced at Rs 4,000. We used the smartwatch for a week to inspect whether these features can be incorporated into routine use. Here is our in-depth Fastrack MYND review.

The design of the smartwatch is clean and minimal. The rectangular polycarbonate frame has a smooth matte finish. The sensor array is positioned at the bottom of this case, along with the magnetic port for the charging clip. The right edge of the frame houses the menu button that also doubles as a scroll wheel. The speaker grille is placed below the left edge.
The 1.9-inch curved AMOLED display produces vibrant colours and has a fine touch response. The rectangular form factor of this display is perfect for browsing. The panel can reach an optimum level of brightness to remain legible in outdoor conditions. It is surrounded by uniform bezels on all sides. The Fastrack logo is placed on the bottom right corner.
The pin buckle mechanism for the silicone strap has one significant flaw. Instead of going through a loop, the strap pushes into a cavity. This process is particularly challenging (and painful) when you’re used to a relatively tighter fit. However, once the watch is secured on the wrist, the silicone strap does not present any problems.
While working out, the smartwatch remains unfazed by excessive sweat. It is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The silicone strap does not feel itchy when exposed to sweat. However, despite its waterproof rating, the smartwatch isn’t meant to be worn while swimming.
Fastrack MYND Review: Performance
Pairing the smartwatch to your phone requires installing the Fastrack Smart World app. You need to create an account on this app to use it. The big catch here is that you need to provide your phone number on top of your email address to sign up.
Sign-up shenanigans aside, the companion app does a good job of displaying the essential health and fitness metrics. It also unlocks a wide range of customisation options for the watch. There are over 150 watch faces available in this app. The AI watch face generator accepts text and voice prompts to conjure up personalised backgrounds for the watch’s home screen. We were impressed with the quality of these wallpapers, but the app does not let you add any widgets apart from the digital clock. Installing a watch face on the smartwatch takes a long time. The watch can store up to 6 watch faces at a time.
The ‘AI Voice’ feature on the MYND triggers your smartphone’s default AI assistant. It receives your voice query and relays the answer through the watch itself. We found this process to be quite janky, as the watch failed to relay the answer on a few occasions. The audio output from the speaker is boxy and weak. The ‘AI Chat’ tool uses the companion app to provide text-based answers to your voice queries. The processing time for replies is too long for this to be a useful feature. Not to mention, the watch sometimes rejects your queries on the grounds that it has ‘sensitive words’. The voice command feature is also all over the place, as it regularly triggers the wrong app or function after receiving a vocal command. Fastrack needs to polish these features for them to be worked into regular usage.
Fastrack MYND’s strongest assets are its health and fitness tracking abilities. Its heart rate and blood oxygen measurements are consistent with the readings from medical-grade equipment. The handy ‘One-Click Measurement’ option calculates your heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress level simultaneously. Using the companion app, you can program the watch to measure the stress level and heart rate in the background, but there’s no such option for SpO2.
The smartwatch is capable of tracking your sleep cycle. It breaks down each cycle into 4 stages – Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, REM, and Awake. A Sleep score is assigned to you based on the quality and duration of your sleep cycle. Once the smartwatch has collected enough data in a week, it calculates your Vitality score based on your daily steps, sleep quality, sleep quality consistency, sleep schedule, hourly mobility, and activity intensity.
There’s support for over 100 sports, activities, and workout routines on this smartwatch. As a health tracker, the MYND leaves very little room for complaints. Its step count is inflated by a very small margin, but that’s something to be expected from every budget smartwatch. The ‘distance covered’ stats for activities like hiking, walking, and outdoor running are reliable. The only drawback is that the watch does not have a GPS on board. This means you cannot track your run on a map. Ideally, the companion app would take care of this using the phone’s GPS, but sadly, it does not have this feature yet.
You can accept voice calls on the smartwatch when it is paired with your smartphone. The calling experience is shoddy, largely due to the quality of the speaker. On the bright side, you can program quick replies on the watch using its companion app. When you receive a text on the watch, you can use these replies to respond to the sender instantly.
The Fastrack MYND uses a 300mAh battery pack. With the Always On Display turned on at all times, we got 3 days of battery life out of the watch. You can push the battery life to 5 days by disabling AOD and being more conservative with your usage.
The Fastrack MYND is a fun and reliable smartwatch under Rs 4,000. While its ‘AI Voice’ and ‘AI Chat’ features lean more towards gimmicks, the AI watch face generator is its saving grace.
