Apple iPhone 17 Series, iPhone Air have gone on sale for the first time in India today. The new models were launched at the “Awe Dropping” event last week. The devices run on iOS 26 and are powered by Apple’s latest Bionic chipset. Here is everything about the iPhone 17 Sale.

Apple opened pre-orders for the new iPhones on September 12, and now they have officially gone on sale in the Indian market today at 8 AM. The latest generation of iPhones will be available for purchase at the older and the newly opened Apple Stores in the country, located in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune. Besides this, the handsets can also be purchased via the Apple India website, the Apple Store app, e-commerce platforms, and offline retailers in India.

The company is giving an instant discount of up to Rs 5,000 on purchases made using American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank cards, as well as no-cost EMI options for individuals who do not want to pay in full.

iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max Price in India, Specifications

The iPhone Pro comes in three variants: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB priced at Rs 1,34,900, Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,74,900, respectively.

The devices will be available in silver, cosmic orange and deep blue colours.

iPhone 17 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display. Whereas Pro Max features a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display. The panel supports ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, along with 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. Apple has introduced a new vapour chamber function, which is not available on Android. The iPhone 17 Pro is also durable, with Ceramic Shield glass on both the front and back.

In India, Apple has introduced the phone in two variants with a price starting at Rs 82,900 for the 256GB storage option. The 512GB storage option will be available at Rs 1,02,900. It will come in lavender, mist blue, black, white, or sage colour options.

The iPhone 17 is highlighted with a bigger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display that supports ProMotion up to 120Hz, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone model supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness with a special coating to reduce glare outdoors and an always-on display feature. An upgraded Ceramic Shield 2 protection has been provided on both the front and back, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance adds robustness.

The mobile phone is driven by a new A19 chip featuring six cores for application processing and a five-core GPU for gaming, which allows for speedier on-device AI processing. The handset operates on iOS 26 out of the box with support for the same Apple Intelligence features.

For photos and videos, the new iPhone features a dual rear camera system led by a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera ( f/1.6 aperture and OIS) with 2X telephoto support and a 52mm focal length. The price of the iPhone Air in India will start at Rs 1,19,900 for the 256GB storage. The price of the 512GB and 1TB storage models will set you back at Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,59,900, respectively.

The new Air model will be available in black, white, beige and light blue colour options.

Starting off with the design, Apple’s iPhone Air is the company’s slimmest and lightweight model yet, which is all set to rival Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. It has Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and back, which makes it up to four times more resistant to cracks, and is constructed of 80% recycled Titanium components, according to Apple. Liquid Glass

While technically not a ‘feature’, Liquid Glass is an essential part of the iOS redesign. Its presence is found across the interface – be it the notification panel or the in-app toolbars. As the name suggests, it has the translucent optical qualities of glass and a fluid sense of movement. It refracts the content underneath it, creating a unique aesthetic.

Clear App Icons

If you like the Liquid Glass aesthetic, you can choose to make the app and folder icons on your iPhone’s home screen clear and see-through. Tap any empty spot on the home page, go to Edit>Customise, and select ‘Clear’. Live Translation in Messages and Calls

Polls in Messages

Reaching a consensus in group chats is now easy with Polls. Whether you’re deciding where to meet for dinner or selecting a destination for an upcoming trip, polls come in very handy. Based on your conversations, Apple Intelligence can auto-suggest polls. The votes are displayed as they come in live.

SIM-Based Focus Mode

Dual SIM users have received a new filter for the Focus Mode. They can choose to limit a SIM altogether during any focus mode.

Adaptive Power Mode

The new Adaptive Power Mode kicks in when your iPhone is draining the battery at a higher rate than usual. Using machine learning, the device makes some crucial changes to extend the battery life, like dimming the screen and delaying certain tasks. Order Tracking

The Wallet app uses Apple Intelligence to find emails sent by merchants and delivery carriers to fetch order details, progress reports, ETA, and other information.

Custom Snooze

You can now set a custom snooze duration for your alarms. Previously, the snooze duration was set to 9 minutes and could not be changed. Now, users can set the window anywhere between 1 to 15 minutes.

Design and Display

The phone seems large when you first hold it. Incredibly, incredibly large. It is so thick and heavy that it reminds us of Samsung’s earlier flagship smartphones. However, the camera bump is minimal. The Redmi 15, like the majority of low-cost phones in this price range, is made of polycarbonate. We were sent the frosted white version for review, which we found to be quite appealing. Given that its pattern varies greatly depending on how light shines on it, it appears to be rather attractive. Additionally, there are two colour variations available: Sandy Purple and Midnight Black.

Although the back and frame of the phone are constructed of polycarbonate, the camera module is made of metal. The 6.9-inch FHD+ screen of the 5G smartphone has a resolution of 2,340×1,080 pixels. It is a TÜV Rheinland display that supports adaptive refresh rates of up to 144 Hz and touch sampling rates of up to 288 Hz. The maximum brightness of the phone is set at 850 nits.

There are bezels surrounding the display on all three sides, at the top, and on the left and right. They are somewhat slim, which is acceptable for an LCD panel. The chin is a little thicker than average, but not excessively so.

Now, only a select few apps may use the 144 Hz refresh rate. In fact, the system user interface operates at 120 Hz, with 144 Hz accessible when specific applications or games require it.

In addition, the display quality is excellent for an LCD. Overall, the quality of the video we ran was good. It’s clear, however, that this isn’t an AMOLED. The black here seems a little grey. In addition, its maximum brightness of about 850 nits makes it suitable for outdoor use. By default, the Redmi 15 is set to vivid mode, which Redmi recommends. However, we would prefer the standard mode. It somewhat enhances the display, but it does bring the hues back to a neutral tone. For basic content consumption, the display is rather acceptable.

Also, if you’re viewing YouTube or Netflix, you receive wide L1 certification; nevertheless, neither platform supports HDR. Redmi needs to have included support for YouTube HDR at the very least. But regrettably, the processor is to blame.

Furthermore, you cannot play games at 60 frames per second with BGMI; it only supports 40 frames per second. However, the gameplay is incredibly fluid at 40 frames per second. The sensitivity function is not supported by the device because it does not have a gyroscope.

Overall, the processor is suitable for decent workloads, daily use, or casual gaming.

It comes pre-installed with Android 15 and runs on HyperOS 2. It has user-friendly AI features like Circle to Search, AI Erase, AI Sky, and Gemini Live.

Redmi is also guaranteeing updates for two plus four years, which is excellent for a low-cost smartphone. Having stated that, the software actually is a solid experience. You can uninstall some of the pre-installed apps, and there is no animation when the application launches or shuts down. In contrast to the majority of smartphones in this price bracket, it is genuinely swift and smooth, which is a welcome change.

Additionally, you get a decent number of customising options for both the home screen and lock screen. It’s fine for a low-cost phone, but not quite as nice as the company’s premium offerings. We are certain that many users would be concerned by Redmi’s usage of its own call recording dialler app. All things considered, the HyperOS 2 experience is surprisingly dependable for a budget-friendly phone.

However, the skin tones are what we found appealing about the Redmi 15’s camera settings. In our opinion, they are rather excellent for a low-cost phone, despite being a bit warmer. Additionally, the image is more lifelike overall.

According to us, the portraits appear to be okay. It goes without saying that excellent portrait photos are not possible with low-cost phones. There’s nothing wrong with the 8-megapixel selfie camera. Not that stands out, but if you have enough light, it is good enough. For the price, everything is fantastic, even the background blur. It only supports portrait mode at 1x now. It can’t be cropped to 2x. Therefore, in order to shoot close-up portraits, you will actually need to move towards the subject.

Of course, the HDR mode should have performed better, and the low-light performance isn’t the best. Though it crushes the shadows, it really does a great job controlling the highlights.

You can only capture videos at 1080p 30 frames per second using the primary camera and the selfie camera. Thus, in general, the Redmi 15 5G’s cameras are just functional if not great.

The Redmi 15 super excels in one area, which is the battery. It comes with a sizable 7,000 mAh battery, which is likely the biggest in the market at the moment. It is also a silicon-carbon battery.
