Amazfit BIP 6 smartwatch with 2000 nits brightness AMOLED display launched in India

Amazfit has announced the introduction of the BIP 6 smartwatch in India. The gadget has a 1.97-inch AMOLED display with 2000 nits brightness. The BIP 6 also includes advanced health monitoring (heart rate, SpO2, stress levels, and HRV), extensive sleep analysis, and a full fitness ecosystem with over 140 sports modes. It also provides long-lasting performance, with a battery life of up to two weeks on one charge.

Amazfit, a smart wearable manufacturer, has announced the introduction of the BIP 6 smartwatch in India. The BIP 6 is expected to provide great value in the affordable smartwatch sector. The smartwatch has a 1.97-inch AMOLED display with 2000 nits brightness.

The lightweight yet strong aluminium alloy frame and 5 ATM water resistance make it ideal for monsoon preparation. The BIP 6 also includes advanced health monitoring with Amazfit’s BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor with dual-light 5PD technology, which provides complete health metrics and extensive sleep analysis.

The BIP 6 also has over 140 sports modes, smart strength training, offline navigation, and a battery life of up to two weeks on a single charge. It also has smart connectivity capabilities, including on-wrist call answering and alerts, voice-to-text and touch keyboards, and Zepp Flow voice control for hands-free use.

The Amazfit BIP 6 smartwatch has launched in India at Rs 7,999. The device will be available for purchase via Amazfit’s official website, Amazon India and select retail partners across the country.

URBAN Smart Wearables has introduced the URBAN Genesis smartwatch built for overall health, well-being, and lifestyle elegance. The gadget has a 1.45-inch round dial super AMOLED display with always-on support. The smartwatch has a stainless steel band and powerful quad sensors for health monitoring.

URBAN Genesis Smartwatch has been introduced in India at an introductory price of Rs 3,999. The smartwatch will be available for purchase via the company’s official website gourban.in, Amazon, Flipkart, and all leading offline retail chains across India.

The URBAN Genesis smartwatch features a 1.45-inch Super AMOLED display, a full-metal body, and a stainless steel block band. Its durable steel frame, IP67 water and dust resistant certification, and lightweight design make it suited for various environments. It has an integrated microphone and speaker, app notifications, and music or camera remote control.

The URBAN Genesis has quad AI sensors for real-time health tracking, including heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, sleep patterns, and stress levels. With several sports modes, it’s the ideal fitness and productivity partner for today’s hectic lifestyle. It also has a specialised wellness suite that includes a breather mode and stress monitoring. The Smartwatch also supports AI voice assistants, which provide hands-free instructions and smart control.

It is intended for everyday wear and can tolerate spills, perspiration, and dust, making it appropriate for workouts and regular usage. The wearable is said to have a battery life of up to seven days on a single charge.

In terms of connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.3, allowing it to pair with Android and iOS devices.

iQOO Neo 10 launching in India on this day, key specs revealed

The iQOO Neo 10 is set to launch in India later this month. The company has officially announced the launch date of the upcoming phone. The Indian version differs from its Chinese counterpart, which was unveiled in November 2024. Along with revealing the launch date, the firm has also confirmed key specs of Neo 10. Vivo’s sub-brand has officially revealed the India launch date for the iQoo Neo 10. The device is scheduled to arrive in India on May 26. The device has also been listed on Amazon to tease its availability. It is India’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It will have iQOO’s proprietary SuperComputing Chip Q1 integrated and claimed to have scored over 2.42 million AnTuTu benchmarks. Moreover, it will include a 7000mm2 Vapour Cooling Chamber to handle thermals. The smartphone will feature LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The iQOO Neo 10 is set to feature an AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 5,500 nits of peak brightness, though the screen size has not been revealed.

The Neo 10 is said to be India’s slimmest smartphone, featuring a 7000mAh battery and 120W FlashCharge for efficient work and daily life navigation.

In terms of optics, there will be a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS camera, 8MP ultra wide, and 32MP front camera, and 4K video at 60FPS for pro-level shots and videos.

Why Should You Consider Upgrading to a 4K Projector?

Remember when HDTVs first came out and everyone was amazed by the picture quality? Well, technology keeps moving forward, and now we’re in the 4K era. I held off upgrading my home projector for years, thinking my old 1080p model was “good enough.” Boy, was I wrong! After finally making the switch to a 4K projector last year, I can’t believe what I was missing. Whether you’re setting up a meeting room projector for your office or creating the ultimate movie night at home, 4K projection is a game-changer. Let me walk you through why you might want to make the jump, too.

Understanding 4K Technology and 4K Projectors

So what exactly is 4K? In simple terms, it means there are about 4,000 pixels horizontally across your screen. More specifically, a 4K image contains 3840 x 2160 pixels – that’s over 8 million pixels total! Compare that to a standard HD (1080p) image with just 2 million pixels, and you can see why there’s such a difference.

I remember explaining this to my nephew by comparing it to building with Lego bricks. If you have 4 times as many bricks, you can build something with way more detail. That’s essentially what 4K does – it packs in 4 times more image information than regular HD.

A 4K projector takes this ultra-detailed image and displays it big, really big, while maintaining that incredible clarity. The first time I showed a 4K nature documentary on my living room wall, my wife gasped at how real it looked. You could see individual feathers on birds and tiny water droplets on leaves that would have been just a blur before.

 

1080p Projector vs 4K Projector: What is the difference?

The jump from 1080p to 4K isn’t just a small improvement – it’s like putting on glasses for the first time if you’ve been nearsighted your whole life. Here’s what I noticed immediately:

The clarity is mind-blowing. Text looks razor-sharp, even when projected huge. This is especially important for a business projector showing spreadsheets or detailed graphs. During a recent budget presentation, everyone could read the numbers clearly from anywhere in the conference room.

The colour reproduction is much better, too. My old projector made everything look slightly washed out. The 4K model shows subtle colour gradients that simply disappeared before. Watching a sunset scene in a movie now shows dozens of orange and pink tones instead of just a few.

And let’s talk about that “screen door effect” – you know, when you can see the tiny gaps between pixels? With 1080p, I always noticed it, especially with bright scenes. With 4K, it’s completely gone unless you stick your face right up to the wall.

4K TV vs 4K Projector: which is better?

This is a question I wrestled with, too. Why not just buy a big 4K TV instead of a projector? After trying both, here’s my honest take:

Size matters. Even the biggest affordable TVs top out around 85 inches, while a 4K projector can easily give you a 100-120 inch display or larger. My current setup projects a 110-inch image, and it completely transforms the viewing experience in a way no TV can match.

TVs win on brightness for very sunny rooms. But with decent blinds or for evening use, modern 4K projectors are plenty bright. I use mine in our living room with ambient light, and it looks great.

Projectors are easier to upgrade over time. When I want a bigger screen, I just move the projector back a bit. With a TV, you’d have to buy a whole new unit.

Cost per inch heavily favours projectors. A decent 85-inch TV might cost $1,500-2,500, while many good 4K projectors start around $1,000-1,800 and can display images twice that size.

Reasons to Upgrade to a 4K Projector

Beyond the technical differences, here’s why I think upgrading makes sense:

Future-proofing: More and more content is being produced in 4K now. Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime – they’re all pushing 4K content. Gaming consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X are designed for 4K. Your next five years of entertainment will likely be in 4K.

Versatility: I use my projector for everything from big client presentations to weekend movie marathons with the kids. The jump in quality affects every use case positively.

The wow factor: I know it sounds silly, but there’s something magical about having a cinema-quality image in your space. Clients are genuinely impressed during meetings, and friends comment on movie nights.

On Tuesday, Samsung revealed the Galaxy S25 Edge, the fourth edition to the Galaxy S25 Series. The business has launched its slimmest phone worldwide, including in India, and it is currently available for pre-order. It includes all of the premium features of the S25 range, including Galaxy AI, but the firm has made cuts to put it in a slimmer package with a thickness of 5.8mm for a more luxurious feel. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge in India will be available in two different configurations. The price of the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage is set at Rs 1,09,999. Whereas the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage will come with a price tag of Rs 1,21,999. The Titanium Silver and Titanium Jetblack are two colour options being offered in the country. The device is scheduled to go on sale May 30 via Samsung India e-store.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Design, Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels. The display has consistent bezels and a central hole-punch slot at the top. The screen features a variable refresh rate of 120Hz (1~120Hz), Vision enhancer, and adaptable colour tone. The panel is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Victus 2 on the front and back, with a titanium frame similar to the Ultra to make it lightweight.

The mobile phone measures 5.85mm thick and weighs 163g. The Edge is 1.5 mm slimmer and 27 grams lighter than the Galaxy S25+, which has the same dimensions. This is the company’s ultra-thin smartphone, and it’s surprisingly slim and light.

The phone is also water and dust resistant up to IP68 standards. It has been tested for submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

It is driven by Qualcomm’s 3-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 of on-board storage. The S25 Edge comes pre-loaded with Android 15-based One UI 7.

For the optics, the dual camera setup features a 200-megapixel primary camera with OIS F1.7, 2x optical quality zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus and F2.2 aperture. In terms of selfies, there is a 12-megapixel front camera with F2.2. Similar to the S25 lineup the new phone also packs Galaxy AI-powered editing features, including fan-favorites like Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist.

Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi Direct Bluetooth v 5.4 and more. The smartphone is backed by a 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging support.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Review: A true budget champ

Last year, Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, pushed the boundaries of the budget smartphone segment by putting out the Phone 1. We reviewed the CMF Phone 1 soon after it was launched, and were impressed with how spec-heavy it was for a smartphone priced at just Rs 16,000. Its modular design was a breath of fresh air in a segment where manufacturers don’t like taking risks with experimentation. This year, CMF has upped the ante by incorporating better hardware, boosting the specs, and even adding a key AI feature from its Nothing cousins. While the Phone 1’s successor is dearer by Rs 3,000, its ‘Pro’ monicker suggests that CMF may have a more economical, vanilla variant in the pipeline. We picked up the CMF Phone 2 Pro as soon as it crossed our desks and used it as our daily driver for a week; here is our in-depth review of the smartphone.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Review: Design and Display

While last year’s CMF Phone 1 did not ship with essential accessories, the Phone 2 Pro adds a power adapter and a soft plastic cover to its retail box. There are 4 additional accessories that can be attached to the smartphone: Universal cover, Wallet and stand, Lanyard, and fish eye & macro lenses. Since the Phone 2 Pro has a new back design and larger dimensions, it is not compatible with Phone 1’s accessories, except the lanyard.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro’s back panel design gets some interesting tweaks. The camera island has been ditched for individual camera rings. The screws are still visible and bring a raw look to the device. You can add a MagSafe-compatible protective cover on the back panel, which we like. However, modularity has taken a step back on the Phone 2 Pro since the back panel itself is no longer removable – completely killing our hopes of seeing a CMF phone with a swappable battery one day.

The plastic frame of the smartphone houses the side button and the Essential Key on its right edge. We would have preferred these keys to be placed on opposite sides of the frame, since it is way too easy to accidentally hit the Essential Key while locking and unlocking the device. The volume rocker lies on the other side of the frame, while the secondary microphone finds its way up top. The hybrid SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille are placed on the bottom edge. There is still no dual-speaker arrangement on CMF’s budget offering.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Review: Design and Display

The Phone 2 Pro flaunts a bigger and brighter display compared to its predecessor. The 6.77-inch AMOLED panel has a 120Hz refresh rate and can hit a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. In High Brightness Mode, this display can reach 1,300 nits and can sufficiently provide legibility under harsh outdoor daylight. Surrounding the display are slim and uniform bezels. The touch response is fluid, and the 120Hz refresh rate ensures a smooth scrolling experience.

During the review period, we used the CMF Phone 2 Pro as our primary media streaming device. Its AMOLED display showcased crisp and detailed visuals with vibrant colours. However, the lone bottom-firing speaker puts a damper on the media streaming experience. The audio output lacks a strong low end and has a limited intensity.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Review: Performance and Cameras

The Phone 2 Pro gets a small spec bump under its hood as it packs the Pro version of the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor that powered its predecessor. The smartphone scored 1,020 points in the single-core test and 2,958 points in the multi-core test on the Geekbench 6 app. In comparison, the CMF Phone 1 scored 1,023 (single-core) and 2,894 (multi-core) points last year.

The smartphone goes through everyday tasks like a hot knife through butter. The rock-solid everyday performance is the cornerstone of this device. Apps take minimal time to load, and tasks like video calling, web browsing, instant messaging, and media streaming are handled expertly. The well-tuned haptic feedback is the icing on the cake.

CMF Phone 2 Pro: Performance and Cameras

We played Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends Unite on the CMF Phone 2 to test how the smartphone handled high-end gaming. The Dimensity 7300 Pro put up a good display in medium graphics settings and a 60fps frame rate. There were no lags or frame drops to be seen. The back panel started warming up after 30 minutes of continuous gaming.

What we really like about CMF as a brand is that it does not compromise on the software experience despite putting out budget-friendly smartphones. The Phone 2 Pro runs the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.2 out of the box. There is no bloatware to be seen, which is incredible for a smartphone in this price segment. On top of that, CMF has promised 3 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches for this device.

During the review period, we clocked around 5-6 hours of Screen Time on the CMF Phone 2 Pro. At the end of each day, we were left with 15-20% battery in the bank. With 33W fast charging support onboard, the smartphone takes just over an hour to reach a 100% charge.

The biggest upgrade on the CMF Phone 2 Pro is its refreshed camera array. CMF has ditched the depth sensor in favour of a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide lens. This instantly makes this the most loaded camera array in its price bracket. In our opinion, this camera array alone justifies the price bump.

The 50MP primary shooter takes balanced and natural-looking images in outdoor daylight conditions. These images showcase vivid colours and sharp details. In limited lighting, the 1/1.57” primary sensor lets in a good amount of light and produces clear images. The Night Mode does a decent job of eliminating the noise from the images.

Images taken with the 8MP ultrawide lens are visibly softer compared to the primary shooter. This isn’t a dealbreaker for us, given the price of the device. The ultrawide images are warmer and have a slight yellow tint to them. However, it performs really well in limited lighting conditions. We were expecting it to produce grainy images, but were surprisingly met with clear and well-tuned results.

The telephoto lens may not seem like a big deal, given that most primary shooters can digitally zoom into the images by 2x and still produce good results. However, the 2x optical zoom of the dedicated telephoto lens yields better details. The shift in colours is noticeable, and you get a warm hue on the final images.

The portrait shots taken with the CMF Phone 2 Pro are focused and vibrant, but lack the background blur to make them pop. The front-facing 16MP camera takes decent selfies while keeping the skin tone and texture effects to a minimum. It can also record 1,080p videos at 30/60fps. The primary and telephoto sensors can shoot in 4K at 30fps. Meanwhile, the ultrawide lens is limited to recording 1,080p videos at 30fps.

Verdict

With the CMF Phone 2 Pro, you truly get a bang for your buck. And the bang is quite resounding. The smartphone towers over its peers on several fronts. The loaded camera array would have been impressive with the addition of an ultrawide lens alone, but the telephoto sensor puts the icing on the cake. The bright AMOLED panel is further accentuated by slim and uniform bezels around it. These small touches go a long way in improving the user experience. We can’t think of any real flaws in this smartphone other than the lack of a dual-speaker setup. But the Rs 18,999 price tag makes it easy to look past that shortcoming.

Your Android phone’s lock screen does a great job of restricting access to the device’s data. On top of that, you also get an option to add an extra layer of security to files, apps, and images that you want to keep away from prying eyes. If you own a Nothing or CMF phone, you need to check out the Private Space tool to secure your personal data. Here’s how you can set it up and use it.

What does the Private Space do on Nothing/CMF phones?

The Private Space acts as a privacy folder for all of your personal stuff. It can store the files, apps, and images that you don’t want displayed on the main interface of your phone. Additionally, it offers a private camera that does not store the media it captures in the main Photos app on your phone. Instead, these images and videos are stored in the Private Safe’s Photos app. You can choose a different Google account to back up these images.

The Private Space is locked and tucked away in your phone’s app drawer. You can set up a unique PIN, password, pattern, or fingerprint to ensure no one is able to access it. Unlike stock Android’s private space, Nothing’s version does not create clone apps. Instead, it simply moves the apps from the app drawer to the privacy folder. Once an app, file or image is deleted from the Private Space, it gets deleted from your phone’s internal storage as well.
