The Oppo Reno14 Pro has a very interesting back panel. Oppo calls this material ‘Velvet Glass’. Its velvety feel is undeniable, and the slightly frosted appearance makes it all the more unique. The swirling pattern arising from the right side of the panel reflects different colours when light falls on it. This pattern is implemented tastefully. It does not feel garish at all. The three rear camera sensors are housed inside a glossy panel.
The aluminium frame houses the volume keys and the side button on its right edge. At the bottom lie the SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and primary speaker. The secondary speaker, noise-cancelling microphone, and IR blaster are positioned up top. The left edge is completely buttonless.
The 6.83-inch AMOLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach 1,200 nits in High Brightness Mode. It can overcome bright outdoor conditions to maintain legibility. The touch response is smooth and breezy. The optical fingerprint sensor is not as quick as an ultrasonic unit, but pretty snappy nonetheless. The display is surrounded by thin, uniform bezels on all sides.
With a 1.5K resolution and HDR10+ support, this AMOLED display curates an amazing viewing experience. During the review period, we used the Oppo Reno14 Pro as our primary media streaming device. The image quality produced by the display was simply brilliant. The vivid colours and high dynamic range made the visuals all the more exciting. The dual speaker setup produced a well-rounded and loud audio output.
The AMOLED display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It isn’t flagship grade, but it can keep light scratches at bay. The IP69 rating for dust and water resistance is certainly a flagship feature. The smartphone is immersible up to 2m for 30 minutes. You can dip the phone in water and take pictures without worrying about any damage to the motherboard.

We ran the Geekbench 6 and AnTuTu benchmark tests on the smartphone. Here’s how it performed:
The Dimensity 8450 SoC on this smartphone does a good job of handling routine, everyday tasks. These include voice/video calling, emailing, web browsing, photo editing, navigation, media streaming, and more. Apps take minimal time to load, and the smartphone is able to juggle them with ease. Even with half a dozen apps running in the background, the performance does not lag.
While Oppo Reno14 Pro is not marketed as a gaming smartphone, it does a good job of handling titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt Legends Unite. We were able to play both these titles at high graphics and frame rate without facing any frame drops. The back panel started warming up after the half-hour mark, but it did not create any issues. The smartphone’s nano dual-drive cooling architecture does a good job of keeping the internal temperature in check.
Software duties on the Oppo Reno14 Pro are handled by the Android 15-based ColorOS 15. The software experience offered by Oppo and OnePlus is nearly identical. The only major difference between the two skins is the icon design in the settings interface. Oppo’s ColorOS comes with slightly more bloatware, which is not a good sign on a smartphone priced at Rs 50,000. Thankfully, you can get rid of all the pre-installed apps.
Oppo Reno14 Pro makes good use of the AI features at its disposal. We like the AI Reflection Remover tool in the native photo editor to be very useful. Other editing tools like AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Recompose are good additions as well. The AI Studio tool can restyle your images, but the final results are quite unimpressive.
AI VoiceScribe can provide subtitles for meetings and videos in real time. You can request translated subtitles in real-time. It can also record your meetings and summarise the transcript. While this is a great feature in theory, it needs some more work. We used it to generate translated subtitles in Hindi. The results had numerous flaws. The AI Call Assistant had similar issues. The AI Mind Space, which made its debut on the OnePlus 13s (our review here), is available on this smartphone too.
During the review period, we got incredible mileage out of the Oppo Reno14 Pro’s massive 6,200mAh battery. If your daily screen time is less than 5 hours, this battery pack can last a day and a half. We pushed the smartphone to its limit, racking up 7 hours of screen time. At the end of the day, we were left with a 20% charge, which is pretty impressive. The 80W power adapter provided in the box takes 50 minutes to fully charge the smartphone. There’s support for 50W wireless charging as well.
All 4 cameras on the Oppo Reno14 Pro have 50MP sensors. The rear camera array comprises an OV50E primary shooter, an OV50D ultrawide lens, and a JN5 telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The primary and telephoto sensors are equipped with OIS. The front-facing JN5 sensor is housed in a punch-hole cutout on the display.
The 50MP primary shooter takes excellent images in outdoor daylight conditions. The pictures showcase vivid colours and good dynamic range. The overall look of the daytime shots is balanced. We prefer this to overprocessed results. In limited lighting conditions, the main sensor lets in enough light to light up the shot. The Night Mode does the rest by brightening the subject and getting rid of the noise.

The images taken with the 50MP ultrawide camera are a tad soft, but it manages to retain the colour profile of the main shooter. Vibrant colours in ultrawide shots are a great sight. In limited lighting conditions, the ultrawide shots are grainy and dim. The Night Mode does a good job of brightening the shot, but the results remain grainy.

The 50MP telephoto camera captures great pictures at 3.5x zoom. The results are clear, vibrant, and detailed. This camera also kicks in when you take portrait shots at 3.5x zoom. The portraits are well-focused and extremely clear. The smartphone does a tremendous job of separating the subject from the background and applying the necessary level of background blur.

The front-facing 50MP camera takes good selfies, keeping the skin tone and texture correction effects to a minimum. All three cameras on this smartphone can record 4K and 1,080p videos at 30/60fps. Meanwhile, 720p recordings are limited to 30fps.
The Oppo Reno14 Pro pays a great deal of attention to its exquisite camera system without massively skimping on power and hardware. Aesthetically, it is one of the most interesting smartphones in its segment with the glimmering swirls on its back panel. The ‘Velvet Glass’ lends the phone a nice in-hand feel. OnePlus’s ‘Bullets’ series commands a significant neckband market share. The latest iteration in the series, Bullets Z3, is currently priced at Rs 1,699. The design of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 is identical to its predecessor, Z3. It has an all-plastic body, but the build quality is premium. The plastic band is elastic and pliable. It has a soft matte finish and does not itch against the neck when worn for multiple hours. The two plastic stems also have a matte finish. The left stem houses the volume rocker keys with a multi-function button placed in the middle. There is a small LED indicator up top and a USB Type-C port for charging on the side. This port does not have a lid, something we found quite odd. The right stem is engraved with the OnePlus lettering and logo. It is completely buttonless.
The earbuds follow the traditional in-ear design language. There are two things about these earbuds that make them a clear winner in our book. The first is their compact size. This makes them incredibly comfortable to wear for multiple hours on end. The ear fatigue is minimal, and they do not cause any abrasion to the inner walls of the ear. Secondly, the inner panel of the earbuds have a matte finish. This ensures that the buds don’t slide out in sweaty conditions. Most entry-level truly wireless earbuds are completely glossy, so it is nice to see OnePlus offer something more useful.
A good fit in sweaty conditions is necessary if you intend to wear the neckband while working out. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 passes this test with flying colours. Furthermore, the neckband is rated IP55 for dust and water resistance. We wore it while hiking and running, and were pleased to see that its performance remained unfazed even after exposure to sweat.
OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 Review: Performance
Two 12.4mm dynamic drivers generate the audio output on the Bullets Wireless Z3. The neckband is equipped with Bluetooth 5.4. Pairing it to a smartphone is easy with Google Fast Pair onboard. Long-pressing the multi-function button puts the neckband into pairing mode. There is no dedicated on/off button or switch. The earbuds shut down after locking with each other magnetically.
The soundstage of the Bullets Z3 neckband is vast and expansive. While the low-range frequencies get a lot of space, they don’t cloud over the mid and the highs. The bass is delicious and makes the listening experience more enjoyable. We played genres like classic rock, pop, and heavy metal while using this neckband, and it handled all of them very well. We were happy with the intensity of the audio output, too. Even at high volume levels, the output was composed and free of distortion.
There are 5 equaliser profiles to choose from – Balanced (Default), Serenade, Bass, and Bold. Additionally, you can use the ‘BassWave’ function to adjust the intensity of the bass output on each profile. There is no option to create a customised equaliser profile. There is OnePlus 3D Audio onboard, but you need to play compatible media to fully feel its effect. These features can be accessed natively on a OnePlus smartphone, but you will need to install the HeyMelody app to use them on other devices.
The calling experience offered by the Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband is superior to most entry-level earbuds. In indoor conditions, the lone microphone on the right stem does a great job of picking up the voice of the speaker and curbing the background noise. In noisy outdoor conditions, the AI Call Noise Cancellation tech does a good job of extracting the voice of the speaker from the surrounding noise and relaying it to the listener.
The 220mAh battery pack on this neckband puts up a versatile performance. If you don’t go past the 50% volume mark, you can get a solid 36-hour battery life. We got 30 hours of battery life from the neckband with the volume level between 80-100% at all times. A quick 10-minute charge can power the neckband for 27 hours, which is simply amazing.
There are a couple of absent features on the Bullets Wireless Z3 that keep it from being the perfect neckband. A dedicated gaming mode is perhaps the biggest omission. While playing FPS titles like Call of Duty Mobile and BGMI, some latency creeps into the gameplay. The other missing feature is Active Noise Cancellation, but the good news is that OnePlus will likely launch an ANC version of this neckband in the coming months.
After using the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 for a week, we can safely say that it is still one of the best neckbands in its segment. Its audio output is superior to most of its TWS peers. The soundstage is expansive and vibrant. If you’re strictly concerned with the quality of the sound, the Bullets Z3 is a no-brainer purchase. But that’s not all. The call quality produced by this neckband in outdoor conditions is equally impressive. What seals the deal for us is the 36-hour battery life and quick charge support. While ANC and low-latency mode are significant misses, the affordable price tag of Rs 1,699 makes up for them.
Google is providing a free battery replacement to Pixel 6a consumers in India who have recently encountered issues. OnePlus has officially revealed the India launch date for the Nord 5 Series. The upcoming mid-range series is set to arrive in the country next week. The company has confirmed to bring two devices, the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. In addition to revealing the launch date, the firm has also shared the availability details of the upcoming lineup. In addition to the smartphone, the company will also launch its new audio product, OnePlus Buds 4.
OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 India launch is scheduled to take place on July 8. The OnePlus Nord 5 is set to go on sale on July 9 at 12 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).
