OnePlus N6 featuring an 8,000mAh battery, 50-megapixel camera launched in India

OnePlus has officially unveiled its new N-Series phone in the Indian market today. The OnePlus N6 is the company’s latest affordable smartphone featuring a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8,000mAh battery. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 chipset and runs on OxygenOS 16. Additionally, the smartphone comes in two colour options and will be available on Amazon in the country.

Price in India and Availability

The price of the OnePlus N6 begins at Rs 22,999 for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. There is a 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model as well, priced at Rs 24,999. The device comes in Fresh Mint and Midnight Green colour options. 

It is scheduled to go on sale during Amazon’s Prime Day Sale starting July 4. During this period, there will be an exclusive discount of Rs 1,000 on the product purchase. Additionally, the firm will also be offering an instant discount of Rs 2,000 to the Axis Bank and SBI credit card holders. Specs and Features

The OnePlus N6 features a 6.75-inch HD display (LCD) with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The panel will be providing an impressive peak brightness of 1,200 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), which is highly beneficial in direct sunlight. 

In terms of durability, the phone has achieved MIL-STD-810H certifications, ensuring military-grade shock resistance and testing for extreme temperatures ranging from -60°C to 65°C. It is said to be resilient against various environmental conditions, including rain, freezing, ice, salt corrosion, and sand and dust storms, and it has undergone rigorous testing with 25 consecutive drops onto hard surfaces. Moreover, the handset has ArmorShell Protection consisting of a four-layer drop protection system that includes tough corners, airbag cushioning, hardened glass, and a reinforced aluminium frame designed to absorb and deflect impacts effectively. Lastly, it has an IP65 rating, providing full dust protection and water resistance for reliable use in diverse conditions. 

The device operates on OxygenOS 16 (Android 16), guaranteeing two major operating system updates along with three years of security fixes. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 chipset, achieving over 615,800 in AnTuTu scores. Additionally, it is incorporated with a 5,300mm vapor chamber cooling system to handle heat dissipation during streaming and multitasking.

For the photos and videos, this one includes a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor with an F1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calls. The camera system supports 1080P video recording at 60fps, as well as 720P slow-mo recording at 120fps and 1080P time-lapse at 30fps. In addition to this, it offers a dual-view video, allowing recording from both front and rear cameras, which is best for the storytelling aspect of vlogs. 

The camera system is AI-ready, offering features like AI Portrait Glow for improved low-light skin tone accuracy, AI Perfect Shot for capturing the best facial expression during bursts, and AI Eraser that helps you eliminate undesired objects or people (limited to 400 uses per day). Additional features include AI Unblur for sharpening moving subjects like pets and athletes, AI Reflection Eraser for getting rid of glare, AI Reframe for composition adjustments, and AI Detail Boost for improving image sharpness during cropping or zooming.

The OnePlus N6 offers a 400% ultra-volume capability thanks to a larger acoustic chamber, which enhances audio output, delivering loud and clear sound.

The OnePlus phone sports an 8,000mAh battery that is claimed to last up to three days on a single charge. The battery is rated for 1,600 complete charge cycles with over 80% health retention after 7 years. It offers a 4-layer charging safety design, ensuring reliable performance in extreme conditions (between -20°C and 56°C), offering protections against overcharging, drops, and compression.

The mobile phone also supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, which is the best in its segment, and a bypass charging mode that directs power to the device during use. This will minimise heat generation during activities like gaming and streaming. It comes with a night charging mode to prevent overcharging and promote long-term battery health. Additionally, there is a Super Power Saving Mode that allows the phone to function even with critically low battery levels (1% and 5% remaining), while 6.5W Reverse Charging provides emergency power for accessories.
