Gemini 3 Deep Think gets a major upgrade, and it is aiming straight at messy science problems

If you have ever stared at a research paper and thought, “This feels correct, but my brain is filing a formal complaint,” Gemini 3 Deep Think wants to be your second set of eyes. Google has announced a major upgrade to its specialised reasoning mode, positioning it for modern science, research, and engineering work where the data is incomplete, the rules are fuzzy, and the answer is rarely a neat multiple-choice option.

The headline promise is not just smarter chat. Deep Think is being framed as a tool for tackling tough technical problems with more mathematical and algorithmic rigour, and then turning that thinking into practical outputs for researchers and engineers.

What Google says is new here

Deep Think is described as a specialised reasoning mode updated in partnership with scientists and researchers, built to handle open-ended research challenges where there may not be a single correct solution.

A key point in the announcement is intent. This upgrade is being pitched as more than benchmark theatre, with Google calling out real engineering workflows like modelling physical systems through code and interpreting complex data.

A quick reality check on performance claims

Benchmarks are not the whole story, but they do offer a consistent way to compare models. Google highlights multiple results meant to show Deep Think is improving across deep reasoning, competitive programming, and high-level science domains.

Here are the numbers Google chose to spotlight:

  • Humanity’s Last Exam: 48.4% (without tools)

  • ARC-AGI-2 benchmark score: 84.6%, verified by the ARC Prize Foundation

  • Codeforces: Elo 3455

  • Gold-medal level performance on the International Math Olympiad 2025

  • Gold medal-level results on the written sections of the International Physics Olympiad 2025 and the International Chemistry Olympiad 2025

  • 50.5% on CMT-Benchmark in advanced theoretical physics

The practical takeaway for readers in the USA, UK, India, Australia, and anywhere else drowning in tabs is simple. Google is trying to prove Deep Think can hold up in scenarios where “looks plausible” is not good enough.

The most interesting example is not a benchmark

One of the clearest real-world stories in the announcement involves Lisa Carbone, a mathematician at Rutgers University. Google says she used Deep Think to review a highly technical mathematics paper in an area with very little training data, and it identified a subtle logical flaw that had slipped through human peer review.

That matters because it hints at the actual job-to-be-done. Not “write me a poem,” but “help me verify the reasoning chain when the stakes are correctness.”

Real engineering angle: from sketch to object

Google also claims Deep Think can turn a sketch into a 3D-printable outcome by analysing a drawing, modelling the shape, and generating a file for 3D printing.
If that works reliably, it pushes the tool beyond answering questions and into assisting with translation between human intent and machine-ready design.

Availability and who gets it first

The upgraded Deep Think mode is available starting today in the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra subscribers. Google also says this is the first time it is making Deep Think available via the Gemini API to select researchers, engineers, and enterprises through an early access program.

Why this matters right now

AI models are getting good at fluent answers. The next fight is trust: catching subtle errors, showing work, and holding up when the inputs are messy and the constraints are real. This upgrade is clearly Google placing a bet that “reasoning mode” is the feature people will pay for when novelty wears off.

If Deep Think consistently helps experts spot hidden flaws and move faster from idea to implementation, it could become the kind of tool you quietly rely on every day. If it mostly shines on benchmarks, it will still be impressive, just less useful in the moments that actually count.

Instagram and Edits roll out Valentine-themed fonts, stickers, and hidden phrases for February 2026

If your feed suddenly looks like Cupid discovered kinetic typography, that is by design. Meta Platforms has introduced Instagram Valentine features across Stories, Reels, Notes, and direct messages for Valentine’s Day 2026, adding a mix of themed fonts, animated text effects, sticker frames, interactive “secret phrase” triggers, and a dedicated DM chat look. The rollout is time-limited in parts, which means creators and casual posters alike have a small window to use the newest seasonal touches without needing a third-party editor.

Alongside the in-app updates, the company’s short-form editing companion, Edits, is also getting Valentine-themed additions, including new text styles and playful sound effects. Unlike the seasonal Instagram layer, several of the Edits upgrades are positioned as longer-term tools that stay available even after the holiday window closes.

What is new on Instagram for Valentine’s Day 2026

The update spreads across multiple surfaces so it is not just a “one sticker pack and done” moment. Here is what changes in the main app.

New fonts and animated text effects for Stories and Reels

Instagram is adding Valentine-themed fonts and animated text styles that can be applied while building a Story or Reel. The intent is simple: help posts look “occasion-ready” without forcing users to hunt for templates elsewhere. This also lines up with how creators typically work in February, when quick seasonal publishing can outperform overproduced edits.

Where it shows up

  • Stories text editor

  • Reels text overlays and captions styling

Valentine sticker frames for photos and selfies

For people who prefer a clean photo post but still want a themed finish, Instagram is also adding Valentine sticker frames that can wrap around photos and selfies shared in Stories. This can be especially useful for brands and creators who want a festive look while keeping the image itself untouched.

Story comment secret phrases

This is the feature designed to reward the curious. Certain phrases typed into Story comments can trigger hidden visual themes and animations. Think of it as a tiny interactive layer that makes the comment section feel less like admin work and more like a mini event.

Creators may find this useful for engagement prompts, since it nudges followers to comment something specific rather than just dropping a heart emoji and leaving.

Notes get hint text, themes, and hidden triggers

Notes are also part of the Valentine rollout, with themed prompts and styling plus hidden phrases that can unlock effects. If you have been using Notes for quick updates, this is one of the easiest places to “go seasonal” with almost zero effort.

A themed DM looks for light and dark mode

Instagram is adding an Instagram DM chat theme for Valentine’s Day. It can be enabled as a dedicated chat appearance, and it is available in both light and dark modes. If you manage communities or brand DMs, this is a small touch that can make conversations feel more timely without changing how you actually message.

What’s new in Edits for Reels creators

Edits is getting a Valentine’s pass too, but with a more “creator tool” angle than a purely seasonal skin.

Valentine fonts and text presets

Edits is adding Edits Valentine fonts, giving creators new text presets designed for quick, themed overlays. If you create short-form content daily, this can shave minutes off each edit, which adds up fast.

Valentine sound effects

Edits is also adding themed audio flourishes, including harp-style tones and heartbeat effects. These are lightweight, but that is the point. They are meant to be quick accents for transitions, reveals, and punchlines.

Speed controls up to 100x

The headline tool update is Edits 100x speed. Playback speed can be increased up to 100x for exaggerated motion effects, fast-cut montages, or stylised “blink and you’ll miss it” sequences. Used carefully, it can add energy. Used recklessly, it can turn your Reel into a caffeinated slideshow, so restraint is doing the heavy lifting here.

Availability dates and what stays after Valentine’s week

Instagram’s Valentine-themed features are available from February 12 through February 16, 2026. After that, the seasonal layer is expected to disappear. The edits, including fonts, sound effects, and the high-speed playback control, are positioned to remain available going forward, so creators can keep using them past the holiday window.

A practical way to use these without making your content cringe

If you want to ride the seasonal wave while keeping your feed tasteful, try this approach:

  • Use Reels Valentine text effects for emphasis on one key line, not every line

  • Keep frames subtle, especially on product shots

  • Treat secret phrases as a call-to-action tool, not a gimmick

  • Test speed effects on b-roll, not on faces, unless you want accidental comedy

Seasonal features like this are low-stakes, high-reward. They give casual users a reason to post, and they give creators a quick engagement hook without demanding a full redesign of their style. The only real risk is doing too much. If your Valentine post needs five effects to feel romantic, the content might be the part that needs the upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy S25
The Galaxy S26 and S26+ variants will not stray too far from their predecessors in terms of design. The triple camera setup on the back will get a small cosmetic tweak in the form of a surrounding panel, making it a 2-step island. This update is similar to what we saw on the Galaxy A56 and A36 last year. The Samsung Galaxy S26 will rock a slightly larger 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the Galaxy S25 (our review here) had a 6.2-inch display. The Galaxy S26+ will retain the 6.7-inch display from last year. Both models will get identical camera layouts. The vertical rear camera array will comprise a 50MP primary shooter, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

The chipset powering the two models will differ based on the region. In Europe, the non-Ultra models are expected to pack Samsung’s in-house Exynos 3600 chipset. US-spec models may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It remains to be seen which chipset will power the India-spec variants. In the past, Samsung has used both Exynos and Snapdragon processors for the base and Plus models in the country. The Galaxy S26 will be equipped with a 4,300mAh Li-ion battery pack – a bump of 3,00mAh. The Plus model will retain the 4,900mAh Li-ion unit from the Galaxy S25+ (our review here). The two variants will support 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. Fast charging enthusiasts will have to wait longer for better charging speeds on Samsung’s non-Ultra flagships.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The top-spec Ultra model will get the more notable updates. Samsung has already announced a new privacy screen for this variant. It will allow users to prevent onlookers from viewing the contents of their device by simply turning it at an angle. The size of the display will remain unchanged. The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel will have a 120Hz refresh rate. The S26 Ultra’s quad camera setup will feature a 200MP primary shooter, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. Rumours suggest that Samsung could bring back variable aperture for this variant.
Here is how you can buy a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra at Rs 69,999
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
While the Ultra model will retain the 5,000mAh Li-ion battery pack, its 60W wired charging speed will be a significant upgrade over the 45W support offered by the Galaxy S25 Ultra (our review here). The wireless charging speed will get a small boost as well. However, those who have been holding out for built-in magnets will have to wait longer.  The Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC may be overclocked and dubbed as ‘For Galaxy’ for this model. All three smartphones in the lineup will run the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 OS out of the box. Create and Enhance Cartoon Characters with an AI Image tool

Cartoon character design is never a slow or quiet process. It is very imaginative, trial-and-error, and a quick motion at times. Cartoon characters are designed on a tablet between ideas; characters are made for stories, stickers, or videos, while brands are made on different platforms very quickly. In all these processes, blur and low resolution are never mistakes but are a result of very quick creative processes. It is at this point that the use of an image upscale tool becomes very vital. With Dreamina, one can enhance cartoon characters’ definition, outline, or clarity without having to begin all over again.
For illustrators, content creators, or a brand, AI upscaling is neither magic nor meant to replace creativity. This guide provides a clear-sighted overview of what does work, what does not work well, and how illustrators, content creators, or a brand could decide if e upscale upscaling with AI is the best option for cartoon characters.

The reason cartoon character images lack definition is

In traditional hand-drawn artwork, taking time to finish, some cartoon characters have undergone numerous changes. The characters may have been born as sketches, have been scaled up and down many times, or have come from
Cartoon visual blurriness can result due to several reasons:
  • Low-resolution sketches produced in preliminary design phases
  • Characters scaled for use in stickers, thumbnails, or social sharing
  • Screenshots from animation frames/drafts
  • Character files from older works are reused in different formats, like novels or drama CDs
When these images appear on the internet, compression and resizing will enhance all the softer elements. What was cute and cartoony and hand-crafted-looking can appear incomplete or unrefined.

The bright side: AI’s character-creation upscaling capability

Usage improvement is a potent sidekick in character-driven content when utilised with design intent. Developing a visual aesthetic means that a designer must consider integrity and clarity as much as aesthetics.
AI upscaling is aided by:
  • Details, outline, line works, cartoon characters, refining details
  • Enhancing clarity in facial features, expressions, and skin
  • Enabling the use of characters in print media and digital platforms, as well as in video content
The sharper characters appear even more intentional, expressive, and professional, which is crucial when first impressions are being formed through small displays.
As with any method or technique:
  • Over-sharpened edges, losing the charm
  • Slight distortions in exaggerated poses or limbs
  • Artificial edges if too much enhancement is done on the image
In creating mascot designs for flagship products, while enhancing with AI could be helpful in the process, it should not replace the art of illustration. Instead, it is a boosting component.

From sketch to shine: Dreamina’s 3-step character enhancement process

Step 1: Upload your cartoon character image

Log in to your Dreamina account to open Canvas to work in a space. Click on “Upload image” to upload your cartoon character picture from a sketch, a low-resolution version, or a resized graphic. It is a good idea to start with the sharpest version of a picture to ensure a good, detailed representation of characters by AI.

Step 2: Improve details using AI assistance

Now that we’ve Next, choose “Upscale” for refining the range where line edges and features on the face are concerned, and “Creative Upscale” for enhancing the resolution and sharpness. Both features can be combined in order for the AI to optimise the outline, colour, and texture while maintaining the original style.

Step 3: Download and reuse confidently

Now that the enhancement is finished, click on the “Download” icon and save your work to your device. Your enhanced character is now ready to be used in illustrations, stickers, animations, presentations, or social media posts.

Mixing cartoon style with cartoon authenticity

Cartoon characters require ‘personality.’ While upgrading using AI, it has to retain this ‘personality’ instead of reducing it. By using it in the right way, it’s possible to achieve:
  • Add clarity without changing the size
  • Improve intonations without changing the tone
  • Improve colour separation without flattening style
Taken too far, enhancement can render an effect smooth and generic. The point is to achieve visually confident results, not perfection.

One character can have multiple purposes

An upgraded cartoon character will not live in just one place. Characters can expand their locations to:
  • Brand mascots & logos
  • Stickers and Merchandise
  • Educational visuals or storybooks, Video intros and thumbnails
Some artists also use improved characters when creating a preview or graphic for a platform such as a YouTube thumbnail maker because it ensures that the characters look great even when made smaller. This is one of the greatest benefits of upscaling with AI.

Both ethics and innovation in AI-enabled character development

In creative undertakings, trust is a consideration. The audience appreciates creativity and purpose. It is for this reason that there is a need to differentiate between enhancement and fabrication.
AI upscaling aimed at clarity is a far cry from a deepfake AI tool used to replicate identities or create visuals out of thin air without attribution. Artists and brands build credibility through original characters made clear, not changed past recognition.

Intelligent workflow for busy creatives

Illustrators, content creators, and teams with strict deadlines will find the image upscaling process with AI technology an upgrade within their workflow. In the case where they have to redraw the characters, it will become easier for them.
Experimenting is encouraged due to flexibility. Sketch openly, iterate continuously, and improve when ready. Do not worry if initial versions are not usable.

Conclusion: More nuanced characters and interesting stories are needed

The use of AI technology to develop and improve cartoon characters is not meant to replace creativity but to further enhance it. The purpose of Dreamina technology is to sharpen, upscale, and reuse cartoon characters.
When implemented properly, AI enhancement allows for better character communication, longer jumps, and better visual appearance without needing a redraw.

The Focus Habit Tech People Keep Coming Back To

Most people who work with technology know the feeling: the day is built from tabs, tickets, chats, dashboards, and tiny pings that steal attention in small bites. Even such stimulating content keeps our brains ‘on’ for too many hours. Counting screen scrolls at night may provide a sense of restful sleep, but a louder mind awaits us. Offline hobbies are quietly back at our desks and tables once again—those that don’t demand performance or action. A surprisingly good option is puzzle time, and it’s easy to start even if you travel or live in small spaces. Some people keep a physical set at home, while others change media formats from week to week. Another example would be using free jigsaw puzzles when you want a comparable sense of structure and calm, but do not want to go out with the big table. This basic concept is: Give your brain something that will give you a sense of challenge, accomplishment that cannot be measured.

Why puzzles fit the way tech minds work

Tech work trains a certain style of attention. You scan for patterns, spot inconsistencies, and build systems from fragments. Debugging is basically “find the piece that doesn’t belong.” Product work is “assemble a coherent picture from incomplete information.” Even support and operations, when done well, are pattern recognition under pressure. Puzzles speak the same language, just in a safer environment. They offer:
  • A defined problem with a clear boundary
  • Immediate feedback without social stakes
  • A pace you can control
  • Progress you can see without measuring yourself against anyone
That last part matters more than it sounds. People in tech often live inside abstract progress. You ship code, yet the work stays invisible to most of the world. You close tickets, but the next sprint replaces them instantly. A puzzle becomes a small physical record of effort. You can literally look at the table and say, “Yes, something moved forward today.”

Focus without the pressure to optimise

If you spend your day optimising, your hobbies can start to feel like more work. Even “relaxation” gets turned into a project: optimise sleep, optimise workouts, optimise attention. Puzzles can break that loop because they reward steadiness rather than intensity. The experience is repetitive in a good way. You sort edges. You group colours. You test pieces. You fail quickly and move on. There’s no penalty for being slow. There’s no feed judging your choices. You can stop at any moment, then return later without losing the thread. That is a rare type of focus: gentle focus. It’s the state where your mind stays engaged, yet your body starts to loosen. For many tech workers, this is the sweet spot between mental stimulation and nervous system recovery.

The brain benefits tech people actually notice

You don’t need neuroscience buzzwords to feel the effect. After a long day, puzzles can shift your attention from “open loops” to “closed loops.” Instead of holding a hundred tasks in working memory, you hold one question: where does this piece fit? Over time, people report changes that are practical:
  1. Cleaner transitions after work Puzzles create a ritual that separates “work brain” from “home brain.” It’s similar to a commute, just more pleasant.
  2. Less craving for low-quality stimulation When the brain receives a satisfying challenge, the extent of never-ending scrolling is broken. You can still reach into the phone habit, but you don’t do it automatically anymore.
  3. More patience and acceptance of uncertainty Tech problems are often ambiguous. Puzzles teach a calm way to sit with uncertainty. You don’t panic when nothing fits for ten minutes. You keep testing.
  4. A reliable sense of completion Completion is underrated. You need some tasks that truly end.
There’s also an emotional benefit tech folks sometimes underestimate: puzzles don’t argue back. They don’t escalate. They don’t have meetings. They offer a quiet, stable relationship with difficulty.

Making puzzles work in a modern tech routine

The biggest challenge is not motivation. It’s friction. And finally, if the hobby needs to be set up, then it will lose to the couch and phone. So the secret is to turn the pastime into a decent product. Here are a few ways that work well for a life full of technology:
  • The rule of fifteen minutes Keep puzzle time short on weekdays. You don’t need a two-hour session. A focused fifteen minutes can reset your nervous system more than another half-hour of content.
  • A dedicated surface If you can, keep a small board or corner of a table reserved. Constantly packing it away kills momentum.
  • Choose puzzles with the right difficulty curve If work is intense, pick puzzles with clear patterns or bold colour blocks. If work is repetitive, choose something more complex and textured.
  • Think of it as a meeting with yourself. Look at it on your calendar two or three times a week, not as a way to get more done, but as a way to keep things running.
One other piece of advice: don’t make it a competitive activity. You don’t need speed runs or scorekeeping. The win is that you showed up and your mind softened.

Analogue satisfaction in a digital world

Technology is built to capture attention. Even “useful” tools compete for focus. You might swear to spend more time reading books, engaging in more sports activities, meditating more, and delete half your applications from your device. In fact, in practice, things just do not go as smoothly as this. A better question would be: What are you going to add to your life to naturally influence your method of paying attention? Puzzles are interesting because they offer a kind of attention that feels clean. It’s not fragmented. It’s not reactive. It’s not social. It’s you and a picture slowly coming into focus. There’s also a level of comfort in using that metaphor. You could have a chaotic week, a complicated set of projects, and a mind cluttered with unresolved issues. Yet on the table, the pieces are honest. They fit or they don’t. Progress is visible. The end exists. That’s why puzzles work so well for people who live in complex systems. They provide a simple system that you control. You can step into it for a while, let your mind rebuild its capacity for steady focus, then step back into your digital world with a little more calm and clarity. If you work with technology, puzzles won’t solve burnout by themselves. They won’t replace sleep or boundaries. But as a minor habit, they preserve something precious: the ability to focus without tension. And in a world engineered to divide attention into mini- pieces, it begins to feel like a superpower.
