iPhone 17 series leaked dummy image suggests design upgrades

New iPhone 17 series dummies have leaked online, displaying the phone's overall design as well as metal and glass chassis components.

The iPhone 17 series has been the subject of numerous leaks and surprises, raising user and fan interest. A recent leak shows new dummies for the iPhone 17 series, adding to the already extensive information available about the phone. New iPhone 17 series dummies have leaked online, displaying the phone’s overall design as well as metal and glass chassis components.

Sonny Dickson leaked a fresh image displaying dummy units of the rumoured iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, providing insight into the design improvements on the Pro versions, as opposed to previous metal dummies posted by the same person. Ring magnets on the back of all four models in the series are used for MagSafe application and alignment. The Two Pro models, which have tall and wide camera islands, have the most modifications.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a new rear camera design, with a larger glass portion and a metal-framed rear panel. This design differs from their predecessors, which had glass-only rear panels. The phone’s durability is further enhanced by its smooth single-piece frame and back panel of aluminium and glass. The lower half of the handset, including the MagSafe region, will be covered in glass, with the elevated camera module surrounded by aluminium.

According to CNET, Apple plans to release an ultra-thin iPhone 17, potentially with a thickness of under 5.5mm.

The iPhone 17 is believed to have no substantial improvements in design over the current iPhone 16 model, and it could be the only phone in the series with a vertical camera configuration. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the iPhone 16 Plus and will have a single rear camera.

According to Bloomberg, the phone may be fully port-free, which would represent a substantial shift in the industry’s existing status.

Previously released photographs of metal dummies from the iPhone 17 series suggested that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro could share the same 6.3-inch display. The iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max appear bigger, with the latter being the largest.
