Realme GT 8 Pro with a switchable camera bump launched in India; the Dream Edition variant tagged along

The new smartphones come with a Ricoh GR-tuned triple rear camera setup.

Realme has announced the GT 8 Pro in India, which uses the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. The introduction also features the Realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition, which is differentiated by a textured Aston Martin logo on the back panel. Both versions use Ricoh-tuned cameras to improve the photographic experience.

Realme GT 8 Pro costs in India start at Rs 72,999 for the base model, which has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and Rs 78,999 for the premium variant, which has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Flipkart and the Realme India online shop will sell the gadget in two colours: Diary White and Urban Blue.

Furthermore, the Realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition, which has 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, is priced at Rs 79,999.

Both phones will be available in India from November 25 to November 29, with a complimentary deco set, a bank discount of up to Rs. 5,000, and a six-month EMI option for first-time users. The Dream Edition does not provide a discount but does offer a 12-month EMI plan.

The GT 8 Pro has a large 6.79-inch QHD+ BOE Q10 Flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440×3,136 pixels. The screen offers an amazing refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, which is combined with a maximum touch sampling rate of 360 Hz to ensure fluid interactions. It also supports HDR, fully covers the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). Furthermore, the display has a pixel density of 508 pixels per inch (ppi), can produce 1.07 billion colours, has a 19.6:9 aspect ratio, and is reinforced with Gorilla Glass 7i for sturdiness. It has improved durability features, including IP66, IP68, and IP69 classifications that protect against dust and water.

The Realme GT 8 Pro runs Android 16 and uses Realme UI 7.0. It is powered by Qualcomm’s advanced 3 nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is complemented by an Adreno 840 GPU for improved graphics performance. It can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage using UFS 4.1 technology.

To properly regulate heat, the gadget includes an advanced vapour chamber cooling system with a heat dissipation area of 7,000 square millimetres, assuring peak performance during intense tasks and gaming sessions.

The device is outfitted with Ricoh GR’s advanced triple back camera technology. The main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 22mm focal length, which is enhanced by optical image stabilisation (OIS) for better image quality. A second 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture complements the primary camera, as does a strong 200-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture and digital zoom capabilities of up to 120x. The gadget has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture for taking selfies.

The Realme GT 8 Pro comes with a large 7,000mAh battery that allows fast charging using 120W wired SuperVOOC technology.
