MediaTek recently held its flagship event, “Beyond the Lens” Tech Day, in New Delhi, a significant change in branding and technical strategy for the company. The company remains a leader in the mobile market as it announces its “One MediaTek” vision. This is a deliberate move to embed intelligent edge technologies into cloud infrastructure across automotive, data centres and AI PCs.

The event highlighted the company’s strong commercial momentum, reinforcing MediaTek’s leading position in the smartphone chipset industry in India. As of Q2 2026, MediaTek is now the number one brand with a huge 49% market share. This is a significant milestone, marking 24 consecutive quarters of leadership in the Indian market.

The “Beyond the Lens” exhibit showcased new chipsets like the Dimensity 9500, Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500, equipped with advanced AI-ISPs to enhance computational photography and battery life. Among some impressive architectural improvements, Anuj Sidharth from MediaTek India & SEA highlighted 18EV HDR Fusion technology, which enhances dynamic range by keeping details within highlights and shadows, particularly in high-contrast situations, as it becomes particularly crucial when capturing images with a broad spectrum of brightness. The chipsets also enable 4K120 Super EIS, which provides high-quality electronic image stabilisation. The process helps to shoot smoother videos, reduce motion artefacts and improve the overall quality of videos.

The event demonstrated MediaTek’s achievements in mobile hardware and its partnership with the main smartphone manufacturers.

At Tech Day, MediaTek announced an extensive technological roadmap for its growth from a mobile chip supplier to an Edge-to-Cloud AI computing leader. The roadmap has three pillars under the “One MediaTek” strategy, including Mobile Leadership (Dimensity) with the new Dimensity 9500, 9500s and 8500 SoCs with a focus on better AI performance and power efficiency; Automotive Momentum (Dimensity AXE) with over 20 partnerships with automakers and more than 190 projects for connected vehicles; and Next-Gen AI Compute (Dimensity CX) for AI compute platforms for PCs, laptops and intelligent edge devices to meet the growing demand for AI.
