How to Blur Your Background in Google Meet?

No need to let your poor video background bother you in your meetings. Blur it!

If you are working from home, then you surely would know about the pain of attending official meetings wherein your video needs to be kept on. You not only have to take care of your own well grooming but also of how well maintained your working environment is at home. At times you may be too busy to look after maintaining the surroundings of your workstation and would be forced to work from a messy room. Switching on your video during an office video conference may seem a big no-no in such times. But with the blur option available, you don’t have to worry about your background at all. With these simple steps mentioned below, you can easily blur your background in Google Meet and keep your video on. 

Without needing to bother about maintaining your working environment at home, you can peacefully focus on your work with the blur option at hand!

Blurring Your Background During A Google Meet Video call:

Step 1: Click on the 3 dots highlighted below in the Google Meet meeting room.

Step 2: Select the Apply visual effects option from the list, as highlighted below.

Step 3: In the Effects window that appears next, you are provided with two blurring options as highlighted below, one to slightly blur your background, and the other to blur your background. Select the appropriate option for yourself, and your background will get blurred accordingly.

Blurring Your Background Before A Meeting:

Step 1: Click on the Apply visual effects icon on the bottom right corner of the Google Meet window, as shown below.

Step 2: You are taken to the Get ready window, in which you have the two blurring options highlighted below- one to slightly blur and the other to blur your background. Select the appropriate option and join your meeting.
