MediaTek Introduces Its New Dimensity 9300+ Chip: Elevating Smartphone AI Capabilities And Gaming Performance

In a significant development for the mobile industry, MediaTek today announced the launch of its latest flagship chip, the Dimensity 9300+. This new chipset promises to redefine smartphone performance with enhanced capabilities in AI processing and gaming, setting a new standard for flagship devices.

The Dimensity 9300+ is engineered to boost the performance of generative AI applications on smartphones by supporting larger language models (LLMs) directly on the device. MediaTek’s Corporate Senior Vice President, JC Hsu, highlighted, “The Dimensity 9300+ will enhance our ecosystem for generative AI applications through its extensive support for LLMs and innovative on-device technologies such as LoRA Fusion.”

Built using the 3rd generation TSMC 4nm process, the chip features a powerful configuration of one Arm Cortex-X4 core at 3.4 GHz, three additional Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This setup enables significantly faster processing speeds, particularly for AI-driven tasks.

MediaTek’s new NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration technology is a game-changer, allowing the Dimensity 9300+ to handle complex AI tasks more efficiently. The chip can process LLMs with seven billion parameters at 22 tokens per second, which is more than double the performance of comparable market offerings.

For gaming enthusiasts, the Dimensity 9300+ introduces an enhanced raytracing engine paired with an Arm Immortalis-G720 GPU, enabling rich, immersive gaming experiences at a smooth 60 FPS. MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology further optimizes power efficiency and network performance, enhancing both battery life and connectivity during gameplay.

Photography and videography also receive a substantial upgrade with the Dimensity 9300+. Equipped with the Imagiq 990 ISP, the chipset supports 18-bit RAW processing for superior photo quality even in challenging lighting conditions. Advanced AI videography features like scene segmentation and real-time video capture enhance visual quality, ensuring vibrant and clear content.

In addition to its impressive multimedia and AI capabilities, the Dimensity 9300+ is built with a 5G R16 modem that supports up to 7Gbps downlink speeds, providing users with fast and reliable internet connectivity across various scenarios.
