Apple Generative AI
The speculations about Apple’s generative AI framework have proven to be true as the CEO of Apple Tim Cook himself confirms this matter. Sources believe that Apple has spent $22.61 billion in 2023 solely on Research & Development which was acknowledged by Tim Cook stating that a large amount has been spent on Generative AI.
In a report by Reuters Tim Cook stated “We’ve been doing research across a wide range of AI technologies, including generative AI, for years. We’re going to continue investing and innovating and responsibly advancing our products with these technologies to help enrich people’s lives. Obviously, we’re investing a lot, and it is showing up in the R&D spending that you’re looking at.”
Market Researchers believe that Apple is far behind in the Generative AI race as it has not entered the competition with others. However, Apple has already started using AI in its various sectors way before its competitors. Apple is already using AI in its iOS 17 models, iPhone camera, Siri and more. Gadget Bridge has already covered Apple Generative AI in its previous article.
The “Apple GPT” chatbot is said to be only accessible for internal usage and requires particular authorisation. However, it’s rumoured that Apple employees use it for actual work. “It’s been used for prototyping products, and it’s also summarizing text for staff. According to unspecified sources within Apple, the tool currently does nothing that ChatGPT, Bard, or other AI systems do.”
Bloomberg reported that Apple AI known as Apple GPT can be launched in 2024. It is an utter shock for reporters and market researchers that Apple which otherwise does not disclose any detail has revealed such important information!
