Sony PS5 owners will soon be able to join audio chats on Discord right from their device

Sony is also rolling out the ability to share your PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social app.

Sony is making it possible for PS5 owners to join in Discord voice chat right from the console; this feature was previously exclusive to PC or mobile users. The move comes after Sony announced in 2021 that it was going to incorporate Discord into PlayStation gaming consoles. Users will be able to start chats straight from their PS5 console thanks to a feature that will be made available to them progressively over the next several weeks.

The most recent news from Sony states that the PS5 system will soon support joining Discord voice chats directly. Last year, the parent company of PlayStation released an update that included Discord integration for the PS5.

With this update, joining Discord conversations with other players will be easier. Over the next few weeks, it will be rolled out gradually, with gamers in Japan and Asia being the first, then Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East, and eventually the Americas.
It should be noted that you must link your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts and that you must update your console to the most recent version of the system software.

how to join Discord voice chat on PS5

To join Discord voice chat on PS5, open Game Base in the PS5 Control Centre, click the Discord tab, then select the Discord server or DM group you want to join.
Next, choose your preferred voice channel. This will provide additional details, such as who is currently chatting on the channel. According to the company, when someone else calls you on Discord, you’ll also get a notification on your PS5 console, letting you jump in right away.

Sony is also rolling out the ability to share your PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social app.

Additionally, Sony is enabling you to share your PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social media app starting next week. To get started, choose “Share Profile” from the PS5 console or the PlayStation App to create a shareable link or QR code. Once the recipient opens the link and logs into PlayStation Network, they will have the opportunity to add you as a friend.
