Samsung and Apple have a monopoly on the tablet industry in India, but competition is growing. Samsung, a prominent player in the tablet business, provides a wide range of Android tablet options, catering to different budgets and tastes. Lenovo, another player in the league, which is trying to expand its market size, has released the Lenovo Tab Plus in India for a starting price of Rs 22,999. This device is packed with capabilities and is an affordable alternative. Tablets are less popular than smartphones because of their portability and size. On the other hand, users can stream music or podcasts using a tablet as a Bluetooth speaker. So, is this Lenovo tablet worth buying? To aid in your decision-making, read our review of the Lenovo Tab Plus.

Lenovo Tab Plus Review: Design and Display
Let’s talk about the Lenovo Tab Plus’s design first. In terms of design, the tablet is unlike any other tablet we’ve seen thus far. Despite its bulky appearance, the design is both interesting and useful. It weighs roughly 650 grams and includes a kickstand. Hi-Fi speakers and an integrated kickstand cause the tablet’s back to be twice as thick at the bottom when compared to its top half. It is unique among flat tablets due to its design. With a width that grows to 13.58 mm at the bottom, the top half is 7.77 mm thick.
With its 175-degree viewing flexibility, the integrated kickstand eliminates the demand for separate holders. This avoids the need for accessories by enabling the screen to be used as a tiny monitor when placed on a desk. The Pen Plus stylus, which is available for separate purchase, is supported as well, which is a plus.

With its somewhat thick bezels surrounding the screen, the tablet looks typical, but its two-tone finish makes it look expensive. Take note that there is just one Luna Grey colour option for the tab. Also, it is resistant to dust and water (IP52 rating is present).
The back is branded with the name of the company in the centre and has a single camera module in the upper left corner.
The 11.5-inch 2K LCD screen on the Lenovo Tab Plus has a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. The display panel is 400 nits bright and refreshes at a rate of 90 Hz. The TUV-certified screen is tested to guarantee that it flickers free and generates low blue light, which will maximise eye comfort. Additionally, the tablet has Widevine L1 support, so you can stream HD-quality content with ease.
The chance of unintentional touching is decreased by the thick side bezels. Although the picture quality is sufficiently accurate to provide good colours, we thought the tab’s brightness should have been improved. At 400 nits, its maximum brightness, it is not bright enough to be used outdoors. It was difficult for us to see it in direct sunlight. But this tab is intended for indoor use only, not outside use. Other than this, you’ll find the display to be rather bright and clear, with a flawless, high-quality touch response that feels smooth.
Eight JBL speakers, four of which are force-balanced woofers and four of which are matrix tweeters, are installed in four 22cc speaker boxes on the Lenovo Tablet. It is calibrated for high-resolution music using Dolby Atmos and offers a deeper bass and cleaner treble. Even at maximum volume, the speakers provide distortion-free, crisp, powerful, and energetic sound. When using headphones, it offers high-res audio at 24-bit and 96kHz frequency.

With the ability to switch between being a portable device and a Bluetooth speaker, the Lenovo Tab Plus allows you to stream music from your smartphone with ease. Additionally, it has a customisable app volume control that lets you adjust audio preferences. With app volume control, the tablet may automatically adjust the sound to a lower level when a browser is selected, turn up the volume when your preferred music or podcast app is open, and more.
Lenovo Tab Plus Review: Performance and Camera
For entertainment, the Lenovo Tab Plus is a powerful tool. With a MediaTek Helio G99 processor under the hood, it has 256GB of internal storage. The gadget has a dedicated microSD card port that allows you to increase the storage further.
The tech toy works well for regular activities like web browsing, making video calls, streaming media, and light gaming. But playing a lot of games could call for some tweaks, especially with Asphalt 9. When playing Call of Duty games on medium settings, there are no frame drops or jerky gameplay.
ZUI 16, which is based on Android 14, allows the Lenovo Tab Plus to operate smoothly even when multitasking or doing performance tests. Some app launches take longer than usual, but it’s not a major inconvenience. There is some bloatware on the user interface, but not a lot. The tablet comes with capabilities like split-screen and floating windows, and until June 2028, the manufacturer guarantees two years of upgrades and four years of security fixes.
To further improve the fluidity of the user interface, the business has included additional intriguing features. One of its special features is the integrated Immersive Reading Mode, which uses a soft screen to mimic the colour pattern of a book’s pages. When in standby mode, it may also be used as a digital photo frame or clock. When the Lenovo Tab Plus is charging in landscape mode with the kickstand and not in use, this mode automatically turns on.
There is no fingerprint sensor on the Lenovo Tab Plus, which seems a little strange given that you can only use passwords, patterns, and face unlock features for biometric authentication. We were unable to use the facial recognition feature since the face unlock mechanism just did not register our face. Unfortunately, we had to resort to a pin or pattern unlock the majority of the time.
The Lenovo Tab Plus features two 8-megapixel sensors for its camera: one for the rear with autofocus and the other for the front with fixed focus.
The cameras are designed for basic functions like video calling and workplace Zoom calls, not for taking pictures. In well-lit environments, it produces superior outcomes. The front camera on the tablet needs to be held in landscape orientation during video chats or office Zoom meetings, as the sensor is located in the middle of the right bezel.
The Lenovo Tab Plus has an 8,600mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support, which is sufficient for regular operations such as streaming videos and browsing the internet; however, gaming may reduce battery life.

Verdict
The Lenovo Tab Plus’s distinctive shape makes it an appealing choice for individuals who prefer not to handle large-screen devices in their hands (for long). The tablet features eight JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos compatibility, allowing it to operate as a Bluetooth speaker at times. The tablet allows users to stream music from other Bluetooth devices, such as smartphones. It also has an app that lets you manage the volume and fine-tune the audio settings.
Overall, we strongly recommend this tablet if you’re searching for a low-cost option for entertainment, daily office calls or student work.
