There are rumours that Apple is working on a foldable iPhone called the iPhone Ultra/iPhone Fold. New leaks have come out that show pictures and videos of what the iPhone Ultra is likely to look like. Vadim Yuryev posted these leaked images on social media. They show the iPhone Ultra next to what is said to be the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, pointing out significant upgrades and features in this new model.

In September, Apple will officially unveil and show off the foldable iPhone Ultra, the iPhone 18 Pro, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max, coinciding with John Ternus’s recent appointment as CEO of the company. Vadim Yuryev’s recent pictures of the iPhone Ultra have made it easier to compare it to other models and highlight what makes it special.

According to the leak, the iPhone Ultra is designed to be easy to use. Its cover display is between 5.3 and 5.5 inches and can be unfolded into a bigger 7.8-inch tablet with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio is good for app developers since it works with Apple’s ecosystem, which indicates that they want to make the user experience and app functioning better.

Earlier, further design details came to light, showing a notch on the side for Touch ID, as well as a sleep/wake button and volume sliders at the top of the device.

Apple has been looking at a 3D-printed design for the hinge of the next iPhone Fold to resolve issues with creases and make the display and hinge last longer. The designs of the Apple Watch and iPhone Air show that the company has been using 3D printing for a long time. This information comes from a Weibo post by Fixed Focus Digital that says employing 3D printed materials can make creases less noticeable. There are also reports that the iPhone Fold will feature a dual-layer design with UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) and UFG (Ultra Flexible Glass). This should make it last longer by keeping the hinge and display from touching each other directly.
