Arc X1 gaming handheld powered by Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor launched in India

The Arc X1 gaming handheld has been launched in India with the Qualcomm Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 Gaming Platform. It has a 7-inch Full HD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs a custom operating system based on Android called OwlOS. Design highlights include mechanical trigger locks, TMR analogue sticks, active cooling and programmable rear buttons. Early access orders will be available on October 2.

Price in India, Availability

The Arc X1 will be launched in India at a special launch price of Rs 29,500 for those who are on the early waitlist. The general public will have to pay a fixed price of Rs 33,500. Customers eager to get their hands on the Arc X1 will be able to place early access orders starting October 2, ahead of the wider release.

Specifications

The Arc X1 features a 7-inch Full HD LTPS TFT LCD with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The screen offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz and a typical brightness of 500 nits for bright visuals. It provides an impressive range of colours, with complete coverage of the sRGB colour gamut. The screen also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which adds to its durability, resisting scratches and damage. The device includes two programmable buttons on the rear grips to further enable users to customise their gaming experience. There are also built-in tools to calibrate the sticks, and users can remap controls on a per-game basis for additional control. The Arc X1 also boasts dual Linear Resonant Actuators (LRA) for responsive haptic feedback, further enhancing the immersive gaming experience.

The handheld device comes with an active cooling system with a centrifugal fan for effective thermal management. On the back of the unit are air intakes, while on top are exhaust vents for blowing air out. This design offers the best airflow and cooling when in operation. Zero-drift Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) analogue sticks for accurate control; the input system is upgraded with microswitch-based ABXY buttons and a directional D-pad for versatile navigation. The analogue triggers also feature Hall-effect sensors for reliability and mechanical trigger locks for enhanced functionality and control when gaming.

This gaming device is powered by the advanced Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 Gaming Platform, which includes an octa-core Qualcomm Kryo CPU and Adreno A22 GPU for high-performance gaming. It has 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at a speedy 8,533 MT/s and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is expandable to a massive 1TB by way of a microSDXC card, giving you ample room for games and apps.

The Arc X1 runs on OwlOS, a system built on the Android Open Source Project, and includes a number of new features to improve the gaming experience. Features include per-game performance and control profiles for optimising game-specific settings, frame-rate overlays for monitoring real-time performance, resolution scaling to adjust visuals based on system performance, custom fan curves for effective temperature management, and a Quick Resume feature that allows players to quickly get back into their games without long load times. With its wide array of features, the Arc X1 is a very capable and adaptable tool for gaming.
