Siri AI
Apple’s attempt at AI integration has lagged behind its rivals so far, but that changes with Siri AI. Rejuvenated with Google Gemini, Apple’s voice assistant can pull information from the web as well as from the apps on your phone. It recognises the personal context of your queries to fetch relevant results. For example, you can ask it to fetch the boarding details of an upcoming flight, and it will reach into your emails for your ticketing information and present the results in an accessible format. Siri AI also has on-screen awareness, which means you can ask it questions about the content on the screen.
Apple maintains that your data remains completely private while using Siri AI. The voice assistant has been rebuilt from the ground up and uses Apple Foundation Models that run on-device and on private servers. Your data is not stored permanently on private servers. Neither Apple nor any third party can access it. You can summon Siri AI from anywhere on your phone by saying “Hey Siri”. You can also access it from its new standalone app.
Apple Intelligence
Apple has also handed its native AI suite a major boost. Powered by a new architecture, the next-gen Apple Intelligence makes the existing apps on your iPhone smarter. Image Playground can now conjure up photorealistic results, the Photos app can help you edit your pictures with enhanced precision, Safari presents a more streamlined browsing experience, and the Passwords app can better protect your saved credentials with updated security measures.
The ‘Spatial Reframing’ tool in the Photos app lets you alter the composition of an image after it has been captured. Any pesky tilts can be resolved by reimagining the perspective of the image as if you’re holding the camera. This has been made possible by Apple’s spatial models that also find use in the Apple Vision Pro. The ‘Extend’ tool lets you play with the canvas and aspect ratio. Apple Intelligence fills in the pixels with great accuracy. Similarly, the updated Clean Up tool does a better job of removing unwanted objects from your images and filling in the empty space based on the context of the picture.
iOS 27
As is tradition, Apple unveiled its new mobile OS at the WWDC. Revealed alongside iOS 27 were iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. Apple’s new set of skins builds on the foundation of the Liquid Glass design introduced last year. You can now customise the level of its transparency using a slider in the Settings app. The Liquid Glass elements can go from ultra-clear to fully tinted, depending on your preference. The Parental Control suite has also received a new set of tools that let you build healthier screen time habits for your kids by setting time allowances across different apps. Your iPhone prompts you with a suggested time limit for each app. Additionally, you can decide who your kids can talk to, what they can see, and which apps they can access.
Apple will add more features to iOS 27 this fall. Here are some of them.
- Shared albums in iCloud.
- Perimenopause and menopause support in the Cycle Tracking tool in the Health app.
- Custom EQ for AirPods. Apple GymKit for AirPods 3.
- Enhanced Flyover experience in Apple Maps.

Final Thoughts
This wraps up our Apple WWDC 2026 round-up. If you want to get a feel for iOS 27, you can install its Developer Beta version on your iPhone right now. We would recommend waiting for a more stable Public Beta version. iPhones as old as iPhone 11 will be able to update to iOS 27 upon its official release this fall.
